So if he doesn't get credit for landing Skenes and White, how can he take flack for missing out on Kilen? If it's simply due to the money?

How much did Jay get outbid on these guys? You should be able to throw some numbers out or at least some evidence to support all of these claims

With this logic, no college player must be getting NIL because I’ve never seen a contract or any bank statements to prove it.

Obviously, Underwood went to Michigan because it’s close to home and offers a better education than LSU.

Correct. Jay inherited Dylan et al and was fortunate to have Lipsey the first to cut big checks in NIL.

It's a question. You said he got outbid so since you know that as fact then what was the discrepancy in money between these guys? Montgomery didn't solely got to A&M because of money, Root didn't even give Jay a chance as he was set in stone at Arky. You want Jay to magically secure every single recruit that he wants. On the flip side of the coin, Vitello missed on guys as well. You don't think he wanted some of the guys we got in the last 4 years?

No. Every time he gets caught he just avoids addressing it. He'll change the subject or move the goalposts.

He's the single most dishonest person on this board.

I'm pretty sure he's a fan of a different team that just happen to hear Lipsey's name one time and latched onto it.

Either that, or he's like 12 years old and doesn't have the brain development to understand his inconsistencies.

On the flip side of the coin, Vitello missed on guys as well. you think Tony V will accept scrubs like Dickinson in his lineup or guys like Sheerin, Eyanson, and Benge to his staff?

Don’t waste your breath Project. I tried to say the same truth in another thread the other day and was shouted down by those who don’t understand everything about recruiting college baseball. (Hint to others: it isn’t just about a NIL check. Having a draft-able position means more than just a check in college. Ask Tommy W.).

I think the answer is pretty obvious. Jay still has plenty of money to buy good rosters. He's just losing more battles now because others have stepped up too.

This was less of the case in 2023. But since (and going forward), it’s evident that Tenn, Texas, A&M, Ark, Ole Miss etc will win money battles for players that LSU wants

Then tell me how he "whiffed" on Kilen when it's completely out of his hands and only comes down to money.

Didn’t BA rank our transfer class #1 getting 9 top 100 players?

Along with the incoming freshman class too right?

But according to one dumbass, that's not good enough. JJ needed to get everybody HE wanted.

Jay landed the #1 transfer portal class, why is this being argued about because he didnt land every Top 10 player

Literally zero coaches land every single player they want

You could look at this any number of different ways.

How is Tony big-dicking Jay at a school that has no tradition etc? He can't raise more than a guy who's at a school with major disadvantages in relation to LSU in the sport of baseball?

If the money is not far off, how is Jay unable to sell warmer weather, better tradition, superior ballpark and resources, fan following, etc? Is Tony that much better of a recruiter that kids want to play for him?

Again, when Jay had everything in his favor he bought the Tommys and Skenes. The last two cycles, we've seen the playing field level on NIL and he's lost the most coveted kids in the Portal.

there were other transfers in 2023.

Tennessee went and got Chase Dollander, Ahuna from Kansas.

Florida got Hurston Waldrep from
southern miss and Riopelle from
coastal carolina.

There really isn’t an argument that Jay only won because no one else was trying to buy good players.

Agree we will always get one of the top cumulative classes. My point is he's not getting that difference making star or two like he once was (Berry, Tommy, Skenes)

Montgomery's impact on A&M pre-injury last year. Kilen's impact so far at Tenn. Etc. The very top guys who are the most widely coveted
