That's complete BS. This isn't about race despite you playing that card. This is about a change in college football away from the loyalty, heart, character, passion, that players in the past possessed. You like where it's going...good for you. There are MANY who do not, and that can't be good for the game despite how you try and spin it.

You were not entertained in 2019. Lol. Then you will never be satisfied with anything LSU football ever does. You would be better off just crawling in a hole. I find it amazing the crap some of you come up with. It is sad that some of you actually put time into your posts.

I take it you didn't read my whole post. But please keep talking about how stupid everyone else is while you take one qualified statement out of context and respond as if I never excepted 2019 from my general statement.

Once the tv money got so big this was inevitable. You can’t tell coaches they can leave kids in the lurch and run off for millions of dollars but the players have to stay and be poor.

Most can't. Wait until your turn.

The culture and product on the field is getting much worse....kind of in step with change in the country.

I echo your sentiments 100 percent. I grew up, starting in the 60's, loving all pro sports but now can barely watch em. I am an alumnus of LSU-HSC as well. Hell most of Eunice has always been die hard LSU even when the majority never attended any college. I was born and bred and Tiger and will die a Tiger. All I can say is it was very hard to watch our Tigers lose to K State but I love the heart of every Tiger that played. Jontre for governor!!!!!

Great post
Like the bleak outlook on college football, our Country is in the same shape.
I think it is worse for “BabyBoomers” and “The Greatest Generation”
Americans in our generation worked for what we needed. We did not live our lives with our hands out.
You Committed to the Military, wife and College and stuck with it
Some Athletes are no more Committed than the man in the Moon.
Just think if hundreds “opted out” in the Middle of a battle.
If past generations were like today we would be speaking Russian, Chinese or German
My friends our Country is frickef if we do not change,

It always comes down to this with people. Shitty people like this poster who is being a total dickhead about this subject.

I am taking a wait and see attitude. It has entered in my mind to find other things to do in the fall (after 40 years) should this go south which is something I could never imagine a few years ago.

Well you have likely incurred the wrath of those who have swallowed the kool-aid. I haven't read another comment but i'm sure you'll hear ... fairness..free market...expensive coaches...etc. etc.

But you are right...and I am in the same boat with you. NIL is a plague and will due far more damage to athletes than good...it is rife with dishonesty, corruption, and distraction. I haven't heard one talking head "enlighten" their followers on the downside...not one..it's all about the bullshite called fairness...an abstraction and a lie.

Football and basletball are now forever tainted with the "portal" and NIL...and they both will impact the interpersonal relationships commonly called "team".

I wish they would create an NIL NCAA league and a Student-Athlete NCAA League.

You are not alone in your feelings. NIL has turned college football into NFL-Light. Between that and players opting out halfway through seasons, transfer portal crap, and COVID testing madness, it’s hard to find passion about it.

They try and spin it, we are just old, won't change, etc...well we see the change clearly, and most never knew college football when there was tremendous passion by fans AND players. Most of us are losing that passion for a sport that used to define heart and passion in sports. Today, play for us one day, enemy the next. Never could have happened in the past. College football is losing a lot of the allure that drew so many in. But hey, I'm in my 50s...I am old and dumb and can't see how great this is for college football...like the youngens can.

They're trying to ruin college football, like they have ruined college basketball. I'm just thankful I got to see real football and basketball at the college level for 55 years. It's downhill from here, all me me me.

So we all knew that players were paid beneath the table. Knowing that truth what is the option here? Players aren't just playing for the pride of their school. There is too much money in CFB and football in general for it to be a pure sport like what you are describing.

Not saying it doesn't feel the same either, but my point is that vision of college football has not existed for a long time now.

That may be true, but I'd rather not know. Anyone who says it's not play for pay with NIL is a fool and a liar. The NCAA is a joke, Dale Brown knew this 50 years ago. And the transfer portal is ruining college football.

The SLU (mainly against Nicols) and the Ponchatoula games were incredibly electric and enjoyable.
If you don't think Tiger Stadium will be incredibly electric once BK gets them back on the right track then you're fooling yourself thinking that Mickey Mouse stuff you watched was better.
