I know it is all revenue driven but it is hilarious with her record and the recent championship she only gets $3 million a year. For once the pay gap argument is valid.

For reference, that's essentially what MM gets for having terrible seasons lol

Great news and she deserves every penny of it.

That is cheap as hell. She won a NC and probably will this year. I would think 2x that. Other colleges would pay much more to have coach M on their court.

Has anyone heard how many season tickets have been sold for this season?

the top 10 coaches are making like $1 million or more annually. There just isn’t a lot of market competition to spend that much in the sport.

3 mil for womens basketball? Louisiana should raise taxes on you idiots supporting this waste.

Well in addition to the Board of Supervisors voting to approve Mulkey’s contract, they are also voting to approve raising football ticket prices for next year. I’m sure those have no correlation.

She and Brian Kelly should swap salaries IMO.

Fiscally, as a CPA, I consider this more of a goodwill donation. Will it actually ban out straight line in revenue-expenses for women’s basketball alone? Not at all. But the goodwill she and her winning has give the university makes this worth it IMHO

She's going from averaging $2.5M over the next 7 years to $3.2M over the next 10 years. It's pretty silly to suggest that relatively small increase has anything at all to do with football ticket prices going up.

I haven't heard a specific number, but when I went to buy some a couple weeks ago, the entire lower bowl was sold out. There wasn't much left around midcourt in the uppers either.

Pretty sure we are going to have a record number of season tickets sold for this year.

Obviously there are many factors that go into raising ticket prices, the LSU Athletic Department only had a $1.94 million operating surplus during the 2022 fiscal year. Increasing a coaches salary by $700k plus increases in the assistant coach's salaries absolutely has an impact on the overall budget.

Wonder if that includes instilling dignity and class in the players.

I've heard its WELL ABOVE the 5,000 they sold last year. I would expect that it may be close to 10,000.............which would be phenomenal!

I figured at the very least she would be getting a 10 year 50 or 60 million contract. Better start figuring out a better contract if she wins two years in a row.

Matt Mascona pretty much sums it up here...........

"Is Kim Mulkey worth $3.2 million a year, you damn right she is"!
