Jamarcus Russell who could have seen that coming...
Darius Guice, sad...
John Williams, from All American to the nickname Hot-Plate Williams...
Russell Shephard, we just didn't know how to use him...
Ditto with Russell Gage

Mike Papajohn. After LSU baseball became an actor/stuntman. Killed Uncle Ben in the original Toby McGuire Spider-Man and about 200 more credits

Dontavius Lipshitz

No one expected the guy who ran the combine 40 in dreadlocks while wearing a yarmulke to go far in the NFL but damn if he didn't fool them all.

Jalen mills. It felt like he was constantly getting beat at LSU. He’s a free agent now but that’s after 8 years and $23M

circling back to this to mention Ryan Clark

Undrafted nobody

13yr
152 games started
1 Pro Bowl
1 Super Bowl

Was basically a 10yr starter in NFL. You rarely see that

I remember Gage getting absolutely roasted at DB in the spring game and thinking he was a wasted scholarship.

I thought Jamarcus would be decent, certainly didn’t think he would bust so hard in the NFL.

That persistent cough got him.

Russell Gage by a long shot for me. Thought he was a borderline SEC backup. Dude has made the most of his career.

Kyle Williams... Yes, he was an All-American, but he was also a 5th rounder. Most "experts" felt like he was one of those guys that is great in college, but didn't have the build or tools to be more than a backup in the NFL. Instead, he was a 6-time pro-bowler and an All-Pro. He also played his entire career for Buffalo, which is cool and rare these days.

During training camp of his rookie season he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and missed his entire rookie season. During his second season he took over as the Falcons starting center after Calvin Collins was moved to guard.

It would be fascinating to hear the story of how a recovering from ACL rookie worked to become the starting center of an NFL team. Rocky-type story, then lasting a decade starting at the position. What a badass!

It gets talked about a lot, but still can’t believe the dude wasn’t just a cheat code in college. If he was more aggressive and Jones was more creative in getting him shots in the paint, he could’ve scored 30 a game with ease.
