I remember someone asking Chad Lavalais about being "co-champs" in 2003. Lavalais said something to the effect that "it doesn't say co-champs on my ring."

Although not from an LSU player...still pretty cool....

"It was like being in the Colliseum in Rome and we were the Christians."

I think Daniels said, "I play for the name on the side of my helmet not for the name on the back of my jersey". Same difference, though. GREAT QUOTE! I've used it with kids.

easily the best quote ever.

Following a loss, I believe Curly Hallman once referred to LSU's inability to protect the football as the team's "Achilles tendon."

We also used to say that he also blamed a loss on "three words: field po sition."

I don't believe the latter was ever said, but it helped us get through the dark days.

Daniels quote is by far the best. It is the best not just because of what he said but because of what he had just done for the team. I can't remember ever being prouder of a Tiger than I was of Daniels at that moment.

During the '99, or was it '98, loss to Houston, the guy sitting next to my wife said "this is the worst team since McGovern-Eagleton".
