When accepting his retired jersey at halftime of a game at the PMAC, Shaq's acceptance speech goes like this.

"LSU! Love Shaq University!"

That is all he says. The crowd is stunned for a second. He walks off. The crowd goes wild!

Not a player but..."Hire Curly Hallman and forget it!!" Bo Dean

Not sure if it is an exact quote, but pretty close.

"that's what you get when you listen to EARTHLINGS." - -

Shaq in a interview after he was told that some say he is on the decline of his career.

I just love the fact that Shaq refeered to people/humans as EARTHLINGS.

Easy one to me

"I play for the letters on the side of my helmet, not the numbers on the back of my jersey."

-Travis Daniels, after giving up his redshirt in the SEC champ game.

thanks for clarifying... either way that is badass for a 17-18 year old to say.

I think Daniels said, "I play for the name on the side of my helmet not for the name on the back of my jersey". Same difference, though. GREAT QUOTE! I've used it with kids.

Not looking to start anything, but Padre was the first to quote it correctly. And I agree with you, that is my favorite statement from a former LSU athlete.

"WE DID IT WIN BECAUSE COACH BROWN SAID
WE WAS LACKSADAIZIKUL" was what Howard HI-C Carter said after a loss in 1983. I almost laughed myself to death...

Also what Saban said about the "brook trout look"
