He made some good played behind the line of scrimmage in 2019.
I’ll take your word for it and maybe it was scheme related but he looked completely lost in 2020. Maybe he could have turned it around but I think the transfer is telling.

People get so mad when you point out the two most recent duds he refused to sit in Bianco and Hughes.

You mean the season with only 17 games?

He appeared in 10 games and was hitting 0.231 with a double. He already had a double this year. Last year you had Gio and Cabrera with LF open and different people getting a look. Only 3 players were hitting over 0.300 when the season stopped. The team average was 0.253. No one was playing that great. Bianco hit 0.074 last year yet he got a ton of rope this year. People don’t remember that shite.

Did you consider our historically bad DC maybe should have had him out there?
The historically bad Defensive Secondary was coached by Raymond and Busch. They make all the DB player personnel decisions.

If I'm watching Bianco play CF (or any OF) before me, I'm transferring too.

So you didn’t want Jacoby Stevens and Jacob Phillips?

I am not arguing as to whether he should have played OF LAST season. This season 231 doesn’t cut it. Drost, Dugas, Crews, and Gio are all way better.

Bianco shouldn’t be playing either, but that’s no reason to play Hampton. Hampton is probably a better OF than Bianco but he’s behind the others.

Mostly at short tho so I’m not sure why this turned into a Hampton vs. Bianco situation. Hampton plays outfield and the three starting outfielders right now are hitting and you can’t really justify taking them out in a lineup that already has holes in it. If Drost or Dugas were struggling I understand giving him a shot but Drost got first crack, which he probably earned in practice, and for now he has earned to keep playing. In time he may have struggled then you give Hampton or someone else the shot.

did he really turn down 1.8 mil?

He didn’t turn it down. His dad did.

Mo wanted to sign but his dad refused to give his permission which he was required to do since Mo was only 17 years old when he was drafted. His dad forced him to go to college and play two sports.

“I’ve always had a plan for him. And he has a 17-year-old mind, so I have to kind of be the guardian. I know it was disappointing for him," Hampton Sr. said. "If you throw that in front of some kids they’re going to say, ‘Just let me do it,' but I feel in my heart that I have to do the best thing for my son." LINK

This situation has the earmarks of his dad interferring again. Or maybe Mo is rebelling against his dad now that he can decide for himself.

Bianco has been a defensive replacement in CF a couple of games now. IRRC, CPM said Hampton had misplayed a few fly balls in practice but that’s just because he was rusty after missing the fall. Clearly CPM feels more comfortable with Bianco out there right now due to what he sees in practice.

he should go to a smaller school where he can play and start in both sports

Ole Miss and State both have two sport athletes currently playing football/baseball. He would start at either school in football. Baseball maybe not.

I disagree 1. He showed great promise as a T Freshman on the 2019 team. 2. The whole defensive backfield except Rick's and especially the Safeties were pretty bad all year, that's a lack of communication on the field and lack of coaching off it. He's also trying to play 2 sportsat the highest level, guy has legit talent, good thing we signed 2 of the top 3 Safeties and got a steal with Langlois, and Davis was a EE, he'll have to be on the field sooner rather than later now

Honestly outside of Stingley who did not look lost in the 2020 defense?

You brought up last season, not me as if it was some barometer for his skills. He wasn't really given much of a chance then.

We don't really know that though. He was hitting 0.500 this year.

Look, I wasn't advocating for him over Drost at any point. I think Drost is the future and gives us the best chance to win. I also think Drost is going to be exposed vs good LHP and would be find with Hampton in the OF getting a look. But when Gio went down, you can definitely see the issue with not giving him ANY starts. And I noticed you didn't mention Standford who started over him vs ULL.

Because contrary to popular belief on this site outside of hitting Bianco does everything else on a baseball field really well. I am perfectly fine with him being a defensive replacement late in games at a few different positions. He just should not touch a bat again the rest of the season.

It doesn’t matter, I’ve got it in good authority that for freshmen CF at the Box is easier to play than RF.
