Source: Baseball America’s Top 30 List for each MLB’s farm system (LSU players ranked below a team’s top 30 are not listed)
Chicago White Sox – Grant Taylor (#17 overall, 11th ranked pitcher)
Cincinnati – Ty Floyd (#11 overall, 4th ranked pitcher)
Miami – Jacob Berry (#10 prospect, top ranked 3B projected to start at AA and develop into a bench option)
Pittsburgh – Paul Skenes (obviously #1, future HOF)
Tampa – Tre Morgan (#23 overall and 3rd ranked 1B. He’s their highest graded at fielding, duh (70), while the other 2 are graded at 50 and 40). He should move past the other 2 bozos by mid-season if he has proven it with his bat.
Washington – Dylan Crews (obviously #1, we’ll see him this year and eventually in the HOF), Cole Henry (#23 overall, 8th ranked pitcher)
A new era of a well represented LSU in MLB is upon us.

Paul Skenes is the #3 overall prospect in baseball.
Dylan Crews is the #4 overall prospect in baseball.
Impressive they are already ranked in the top 5. I sure hope they both pan out in the big leagues.
Side note, it looks like Jacob Berry has been struggling in the minors so far.

Wish Taylor had stayed healthy. He was so good in the fall.

He has been pretty bad overall. He did show some signs of life late last season and then in the Arizona Fall League. But the AFL had some historically weak pitching this past year, so it remains to be seen if he's found it or if that was an anomaly.

I’d say we did just fine without him, right?

Not according to nicholas

We wouldn’t have blown a series to Miss State

How is Cade Doughty doing? I was hoping to see him in the bigs in the next couple years.

Any word on how Garrett Edwards is healing up?

Cade Doughty (TOR):
[A+] 375 AB | .264/.342/.459 | 18 HR | 4 SB | 126 SO (2023)
Actually have a recap of all the 2023 pro lsu player stat summaries I'll probably post sometime. I think it's a fun thing to keep track of.

It even looks like some skill erosion has taken place.
We all remember his bat was his best asset, but his power and fielding were questionable.
Here’s how BA graded out his skills:
Hit: 45 | Power: 50 | Run: 40 | Field: 35 | Arm: 40
IMO, that hitting grade seems generous.
It seems optimistic to think he may even be a bench player in the majors due to trades, the annual influx of new talent, and the constant development of young talent.
He’s still only 23. I hope it clicks for him this year.

Tre is great, and I hope he makes it to the league to help the Rays quickly.
However, he may have to move to the outfield if he stays in the Rays organization. Xavier Isaac was recently rated the #1 1B prospect in all of minor league baseball.

True, but it’s not a great list of top 1B this year. BA has Xavier Isaac as their 69th ranked prospect and only one other 1B is part of their Top 100.
I’m not optimistic that Trey can develop into a serviceable OFer. He probably can’t compete with Isaac’s raw power either. But with Tampa’s preference for solid defensive play, I can see Isaac moving to DH if Trey develops an MLB ready bat.

We went to a Blue Wahoos game last year and Berry was in a boot.

I watched him hit his first AA bomb for the wahoos against the Mississippi Braves last season
He chatted it up with my son on the field before the game (my son was wearing his LSU baseball jersey) and signed a ball

Pre-Covid I was at Toronto wearing P&G with seats behind first base and during warmups Alex Bregman spotted me, nodded and pointed to me from the field.
1,120 miles from Alex Box that was cool, and I hope there’s more MLB stars to come from LSU.

It’s very hard for a 1B to make the top 100. It’s not a position of value. There’s never more than a couple. If he’s #69, he’s a bad mofo
