17. Astros: Derek Curiel, OF, Louisiana State (No. 15)
Curiel's power may not have developed as hoped, limiting his ceiling, but he's a high-floor player who has hit well for two years in the SEC and proven this spring that he can play center field. Like Lebron, he could fit as early as the middle of the top 10.

That's up from a month or so ago. Wonder where Jake will project. I think he was around 40 before the injury.

Sounds like LSU is getting another year of Curiel

Better chance of a fan eating 18 hot dogs in 1 day then Curiel coming back.

Anyone drafting a one tool player in the first round is a bit bullish on Curiel.

His one tool is the bat.

Good speed. Ok glove, Ok power. Unimpressive arm.

Man I would be so happy to see him playing for the Astros. Need another LSU presence.

Just look at Crews
The dude is better the Curiel in every measurable and is in Triple A

Brown is a better mlb prospect imo.

Curiel is a great baseball player but he has a long way to go to make it up.

Yeah hes got an absolute cannon if somebody could get him to be more consistent with tossing it to the plate. Decent speed too with power bat. Projects well.

A little off-subject but my son’s team has been playing Magnolia Heights (Senatobia, MS) all week (just lost in extras). Cole Prosek is #25 on that list and that kid absolutely can mash. Left handed hitter. Great arm. Touches 91 on the mound but primarily a catcher

I love Curiel. He hits well to all fields and is tough competitor. He is nothing close to where Crews was talent wise.

16. Rangers: Justin Lebron, SS, Alabama (No. 5) Fourteen months ago, Lebron was the favorite to go 1-1, even ahead of Cholowsky. Then he struggled a bit in Southeastern Conference play last spring before hitting .266/.389/.505 with 17 errors in 49 games as a junior. He does have 12 homers and 36 steals and perhaps four plus tools, so he could go anywhere from the middle of the top 10 to the late teens.

Yikes. .266 batter with 17 errors going in the top 20?
