It's time for LSU to address the student section.

Raise ticket prices from $12 to $20
Must have attended minumum 5 games previous year to get tickets again
Reduce number of student tickets from 14,400 to 12,400

As a student, I agree. I don't know what difference the first one makes, but the second and third ones are necessities. I don't know why the student section on the third level wraps to the other half of the field. Those sections never have students in them and are unnecessary.

The attendance at more than 5 games needs to happen. Too many just don't go, but then again they'll just show up, swipe their card and leave so I don't know how to solve that

Actually, LSU should threaten to suspend the student section if they repeat STTDB, ruin Tiger Rag, or the Oh-we-oh. See what happens.

I don't know what the big deal is. A few minutes ago I said "frick" aloud in my office (door closed).

That's basically the same thing as the hundreds of students chanting Suck That Tiger Dick Bitch in the stadium.

Pussification of the workplace?
The reason why you shut your door is the behavior is not appropriate. Why is it so hard to have a great time at a game without getting hammered or screaming STTDB? Does it make the game that much better for you? Really?

I thought raising ticket prices might entice students using the tickets instead of not being used. Might have a little more invested in going to the game because ticket cost a little more.

A minimum of 2,000 no shows the past 2 years. Something needs to change.

LSU can use the extra $8 per game too. Reducing the student section frees up tickets for the general public which would pay much more than the student ticket price.

Priority points: Maybe 1 scan when entering you get 5 points and get an additional 5 points when leaving after halftime. Assuming you get 10 priority points for attending each home game.

I'm really hoping LSU will release the student attendance numbers for the season. Many people claim all the students are using their tickets but just cramming down to lower levels thus leaving huge voids in the stands.

What are they going to do next? My word, the next thing they'll do is stop the public drunkeness and screaming of obscenities in the class rooms during lectures. When will this end? Are we willing to live in that kind of police state?

I don't know what kind of work environment you're in...but just for kicks open the door, yell STTDB, and let us know what happens.

All it would take if they really wanted action is to decrease student tickets and offer them for sale to the public. Or put them in the upper deck where nobody can hear them.

3/4 of the students stay. It's the sorority and fraternity sections that clear out early.

I was sitting in the Greek section for A&M and I was surprised at how many stayed til the end, it seemed from where I was sitting most people stayed the entire game. I was also about halfway up so I only saw what was in front of me and it was full.

In what way, shape or form does saying "Suck That Tiger D%#k Bit#h" add anything to society? You feel like a man when you say that? There's this thing called morals that YOUR generation of kids just do not get. You are part of the problem saying stuff like that whether you admit it or not. Little things add up to big things later. One day you will understand..... I hope.

Great point

Even better.

Sttdb or vulgarity in general doesn't intimidate anyone. It just more embarrassing in actuality

Coach: How on earth could you drop that pass.?
Wr: Didn't you hear the student section? They were calling me an a-hole and telling me to suck a tigers dick. I'm not comfortable with that, coach. I am intimidated to the point where anytime that crafty and free student section says something, I have to collect my thoughts and shake in fear.

false. If you want a silent Tiger Stadium during a game, then by all means, kick the students out of games. That won't help anything.

quote:

the students are the reason that more piped in music is being played at Tiger stadium

again, false. I agree the students chant some stupid shite during some of the bands greatest songs, but Hey Baby has never been ruined, the first down cheer won't be touched, Let Us Break Break and the alma mater won't be touched and will never be messed with by the students...and Tiger Rag was "ruined" long before some of the current students were watching LSU football.

I'm not a fan of "STTDB" but did anyone else notice that when the band played "All of the Lights" the student did not try and chant "STTDB" like they had tried in the past when Neck was missing from the band's playlist...I don't like "STTDB" and I love Neck, but if the students don't seem to "ruin" any other song, let them have Neck and the old timers in the stands get used to it...

Oh, don't worry LSU and every other college WILL start limiting tickets to students.

They have to real it in and the students then can stomp there feet and cast blame.....but it will be there own fault.

When they grow up they can buy tickets like everyone else.

Students yell STTDB because IT'S FUN. No one thinks they're getting in any players' heads.
And, morality? You really think a chant at a football game is immoral? I swear, the way you 'senior citizens' talk about STTDB, you'd think the student section was running on the field and raping the cheerleaders.

You think it is fun, but it is classless and the university has asked you to stop. That should be enough. You can have fun doing something else not at a university event.
