Do we take the series this weekend? Does CJJ tweak the pitching rotation? Very interested in pitching and tweaks to the lineup.

they may have to fly in the helicopter to dry the field

MSU ace has been really good so look for a low scoring game 1
look for a lot of offense in Games 2 and 3 as both pitching staffs still have some sorting out to do

2/3 is what I project
LSU needs a short leash for Shores

LSU needs to Sweep to stay on track for 20 wins... I believe they will find a way to win all 3, but I don't expect it to look polished and impressive throughout the weekend.

Does he tweak the lineup? I don't have a clue!...

My thoughts are there will be many posters and fans complaining about CJJ changing game times in order to get them in around the weather (if even possible).

Runs will be at a very high premium on Thursday, Pico their ace is as good as they come in the SEC.

Eh

He gave up 3 ER 4 R in 6 vs Texas
He gave up 0 R in 6 Vs OU

He gave up 3 ER vs Queens.

I like our chances vs him.

The weather does make his pitching decisions a little more intriguing. In previous years, he kept his Fri and Sat guys on their regular schedule and put in a different Thursday starter. But if Thursday looks like the only game that won't be affected by the weather to some capacity, you almost have to role with Kade, right?

Your math here isn't quite right. Taking 2 of 3 still has LSU on pace for a 20-10 SEC record, but it's still too early to get focused on that number.

No rain in the forecast for Thursday's game.

Would make sense to move up the start time on Friday's game to get it finished up.

If its a rain out on Saturday would they just State in town for an extra day and finish up Sunday?

No, we won't make any rotation changes. Similar lineups as well to last weekend. Braswell/Frey vs LHP, Reaves/Pearson vs RHP. Brown will likely sit out Thursday as he's in a little bit of a slump.

As for MSU, they are a very similar team to Texas stats wise. Glad we get this one at home. Pico Kohn, their ace, while he's been successful only has FB-SL. We'll get to him sooner rather than later. Other starters Ben Davis and Karson Ligon are a mixed bag. First time in SEC play we'll face 2 RHP starters, so Reaves will get plenty of SEC ABs.

Get your calculator and do it again. We’re 4-2. Don’t need a sweep.

It is unlikely we sweep State. There is talent on that team, and this has always been a competitive series. Forget the fact they started 1 & 5.

This narrative has largely been proven false the last two years. In 2023, Skenes opened every series regardless of Thursday/Friday.

Last year, the only time we didn't move our pitchers up was against Arkansas. Now maybe Jay kept their schedules the same this one time, or maybe he thought we had a better chance at winning the series by throwing our two reliable starters in games 2 and 3. But after that series, Jump became our Friday night guy and threw on short rest against Vandy (pitched Saturday against Arky and Friday to open the series against Vandy) and then opened the rest of the series for us regardless of his last outing. He threw on Thursday against Ole Miss and then threw on two day's short rest against UGA in the SEC tournament.

Brown has been sitting first game of series when a lefty starts then comes off the bench as soon as a righty is on the mound. Must be nice if a slump is hitting over 300 in SEC and leading the team in RBI’s and you calling him to be benched. Damn

He’s 2/12 his last 4 games.

slump is maybe probably premature at this point

He struck out 4 times in 7-ABs against Texas. Didn't he strike out last nite? He's in a slump. Get Pearson in there

I think 4 games is way too small of a sample size.

you can probably find a shitty 4 game sample for any player on the team not names Curiel.
