Found the full game replay on YouTube. The ruling on the field was unsportsmanlike conduct and an ejection. That is also how it is listed in the final box score. I hope whoever will make this final decision doesn't dive too deep into the video, because ESPN shows a replay where Haulcy very clearly throws several punches.
Do I think he can hit 40 like he did in 2019? No. Do I think he can hit 31 again like he did in 2018? Yes, he had 26 last year. If you look at his hit totals, he had 164 in 2019...he had 163 in 2023. 151 last season just for reference. There hasn't been a dramatic drop off like people tend to assume with him for some reason.
Over the last 3 seasons, Bregman is averaging 25 homeruns and almost 90 RBI, plus he just won a Gold Glove last season. You can argue Boston didn't need a third baseman since they still have Devers, but to say Bregman's best days are long gone is a stretch.
From a coaching standpoint, if you are 95% sure you can't start at 2, why would you have your players ready to go just to sit around at the stadium for several hours? I understand your point about the playing window, but we aren't talking about a chance of rain starting at game time. It's supposed to rain all morning and afternoon, there will be no time to pull the tarp and have the field playable.
What do you think the better option would be? The Weather Channel is showing over 95% chance of rain from noon until 3, there's no way they'd be able to pull the tarp to start the game on time.

shite bring back TPX Omahas and Gen1Xs I want to see some blasts into low earth orbit.

It's funny how you can reasonably guess someone's age range based solely on the bats they are mentioning. I loved the Omahas coming up. Switched from that to the Connexion, but that gold Omaha was always my favorite.

We already have Olynyk… are they not basically the same player?

If you feel this way, then you should absolutely want Timme. Olynyk is 33 making roughly $13 million, whereas Timme is 24 and could be had for a fraction of the cost.

LSU needs to Sweep to stay on track for 20 wins

Your math here isn't quite right. Taking 2 of 3 still has LSU on pace for a 20-10 SEC record, but it's still too early to get focused on that number.

It was a 9-3 game at the time. In that situation, I'd rather our bullpen guys throwing it over the heart of the plate and giving up a couple of solo shots than walking guys to create big innings for the opposition.
I really like Horton as a mid-round steal. Feel like he was forgotten a little due to the injury, but he put up big numbers in '22 and '23 for Colorado St. Likely will never be a WR1, but lots of potential to a productive WR in the league.
Personally, I'd love to see the Saints be able to add Fannin at 71. People may say "Oh it's Bowling Green" but over 110 catches and 1500 yards in 13 games is impressive anywhere.
There may not be power guys 1 through 9, but if the power is the only weakness they can find, LSU is going to be in really good shape this season. Jones had 28, Hernandez had 23, Dickinson had 18. Larson and Brown both have some pop. Feels safe to assume Milam can be a double-digit homerun guy this year. Priester had 24 homeruns in 2 years at Meridian, Reaves had 28 in 2 years at Blinn. Frey has big time power potential, plus you have the high potential in a few of the freshmen.

I understand that some of these guys are stepping up in competition, but the power potential is obviously going to be there throughout most of the lineup. I'll happily take 6 or 7 guys in any given lineup that provide the threat of the long ball.
That just shows how bad this setup for the playoff is as it currently stands. 5, 6, and 8 seeds but 3, 4, and 6 in the rankings. Add to that the winner of the sugar bowl will be a top 5 ranked team, the expanded playoffs didn't help the little guy or cinderella at all.

From a historical perspective of the programs, I understand your point. The issue I have with people saying the bowl means more to Baylor is that it discredits the guys that are going to be on the field for LSU. You can't tell me the game doesn't mean anything to seniors like Jones, Swinson, and Alexander that are choosing to play. Not to mention, I'm sure all of the younger guys getting an opportunity to play today that will be back next year are hoping to make some kind of an impression on people in this game.

I've seen the "bowl means more to Baylor" narrative floated around in multiple places. Can you, or anyone else, explain why?
Would love to see this guy end up being a Tiger, but hopeful the staff continues to not overpay for 17 and 18 year old HS recruits

Currently 9 teams with worse records than the Saints. Bears and Jets are closest, but both have very tough schedules to finish out. 10th is probably the highest the Saints will pick, if they mess around and win any of the last 3, it could be lower than that.

Latest mocks don't think as highly of Alt as you do. Bucky Brooks of NFL.com has Alt going 10, Fashanu 7. Chris Trapasso of cbssports.com has Alt going 14 to the saints, Fashanu at 7. Mel Kiper's most recent mock on ESPN has Alt at 7 and Fashanu at 10. I think given the uncertainty on the line, one of the tackles should be high priority. Alt and Fashanu may very well be gone by 14, but Saints could stay, or maybe even trade 14 to move down, and grab either Latham from Alabama or Fuaga from Oregon St. Admittedly those 2 are a step down from the top 2 tackles, but starter quality players nonetheless.
