It's easy (or lazy, rather) to lump them all in together, but Arizona had an assistant get arrested on federal bribery and corruption charges. The timeline, allegations, evidence, and the way the NCAA has handled the Arizona case compared to ours is vastly different.

Which shows you that all the pious pontificating about "student athletes" is a complete farce. And that includes from those on this board.

Big time college sports is a multi-million dollar ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS masquerading as a "scholastic activity". If you are winning big...which means putting asses in seats and money in the school coffers you have FAR more leeway than the coach who isn't.

Les wasn't fired for things he did at LSU. He was fired because his Kansas teams weren't worth a shite and the school took the opportunity get rid of their poorly performing CEO under the auspices of "past misconduct".

Personally, I don't give even the slightest of shits if a LSU, Alabama, Ohio State, etc. player NEVER takes a single hour of college classes. As Cardale Jones once put it, they aren't there to "play school". All the university should owe them is the OPPORTUNITY to earn a college degree. If the player doesn't want to take advantage of that opportunity it is on him. But lets quit pretending these guys are "students" when we really just want them to be athletes for our favorite team.

Arizona had Level 1 violations (5 I think) levelled against them by the NCAA.

LSU has had no violations against them as of yet. The case is in the hands of the independent review panel. This process is new, but has proved slow thus far. I would be surprised if the panel makes any recommendations to the NCAA soon.

The Memphis Wiseman case has been in review for 13 months with no word. They took the LSU case around last summer.

Wade is going nowhere. NCAA full of bs, and Miller was fired for performance, not compliance issues.

Well let's use logic... Self and Miller were both implicated , and bad things are happening to both. I doubt the NCAA will let Wade skate based on those tapes. They have to save face somehow.
That's not how any of this works.

Yeah that’s what I’ve been informed of as well. I don’t think they will find anything. NCAA was just desperate so they wanted a third party to look into it to find something. Don’t think they will.

Wrong wrong wrong. You have no idea what you’re talking about. The FBI doesn’t investigate recruiting violations and was never investigating Will Wade. They wiretapped Chris Dawkins and approached Wade as a possible witness which triggered Dawkins lawyers to enlist Pat Forde to smear Wade and damage him as a credible witness.

According to reports has a contract that has a clause in it that makes almost impossible to be fired.

With that sort of rationale, anyone “could” be in trouble down the road.

And Self could be coaching an intramural team at Kansas after NCAA gets through.

Can he coach Defense? Get him in here as an Assistant.......
