Miles wanted Chase to be a CB. He is an amazing WR and probably would have been a great CB too. It doesn't really mean shite. Everyone told Josh Allen he wasn't good enough to play college football. He couldn't even get a scholarship offer a FBS or FCS school out of high school.

How long do you think it would take to go down the list of elite football players that were told they couldn't play xyz position by a major college football coach.

ITT we already have Dak, Marshall Faulk, etc. I'd add that most coaches had no interest in Johnny Manziel as a QB. It's really not uncommon.

Up there with Hallman telling Marshall Faulk he was a DB!

Every major program told him that. He was actually an elite DB as well. He had like 12 picks and 6 TDs his senior year and was a high school AA at the position. He wasn't just a good athlete coaches thought they could convert to a DB. He was a baller already at the position. He didn't end up at San Diego St because Curley was stupid. He ended up there because they were the only D1 program who were going to allow him to play running back. I'd also consider the fact our program was awful at that time, so a lot of much better programs than LSU at the time weren't recruiting him to play RB either...because as a prospect he played better at DB in high school than he did RB.

He will be an all-time great at WR.
He would also be a monster at DB. Can you imagine that dude at FS? He would average a pick every other game.
If he weren't so valuable at WR, I'd love to see him returning kicks/punts.

Everyone told Faulk that moron that’s why he went to San Diego St. Sometimes they miss.
Rumor has it Saban told Vince Young he should switch to WR

Yes. Miles is a bumbling idiot...always has been. Giving Chase to Miles would be like giving a person with no arms a set of nun-chucks.

The worst? THE worst? The worst out of them all? You can’t name 1 QB that is worse than Dak in the NFL? He’s 32/32?

Curley Hallman told Steve McNair he would be a good college saftey but not QB. He also told Marshall Faulk he was a natural db, not a running back.

I am pretty sure Arnsparger or Archer told Favre he was a good LB prospect, not a qb. Evidently many other schools said the same.

Bottom line... recruiting is not an exact science.

Les isn't blameless. But his mistake was giving Crowton too much control over who received offers at QB.

Crowton was not good. But it should also be pointed out that Dak was not pursued by any other SEC schools or any major programs except Moo State as a QB. Much of that predicated on concerns about some troubles he was having, can't recall if it was grades or legal/character concerns.

It is easy to whiff on those guys coming out of HS>

This along with Dak Prescott being a TE shows just how unbelievably stupid Les Miles really is.

Seems like this narrative has changed. I recall it being that Les asked him if he would be willing to play DB. He is built like the prototypical CB that folks want with great speed.

Miles told Chad Jones he couldn't be a pitcher.
