Les may surprise some folks and have some minor success at Kansas, I'm just ecstatic that he's no longer the LSU coach.

I know the past is the past but it still blows my mind how stubborn he was. To the point where it led to his own demise. Think of how much success his teams could have had if he just embraced change and allowed the offense to evolve.
You are right. But that takes a real coach. Miles isn't that good. Miles biggest downfall is he doesn't know what he doesn't know.

I like Miles, and thankful he is coaching again however he really trailed off during some recent interviews. It was a bit worrisome.

"a average coach" whose tenure just happened to coincide with the greatest sustained period of success in LSU history. Weird!
But look, Les did some very good things here (recruiting being chief among them), but I don't think he's an elite head coach.

Yeah. Les Miles was a shite coarch. Any one of you plant baws would have done bettah.
Amirite?
Amirite?

Thank you, I totally agree, that shite was embarrassing and the national media mocking him because he was a buffoon.

You're one of those people who thinks he can do a better job than everybody above him in the company aren't you?

And whose greatest success just happened to coincide with the players recruited by Saban in a number 1 and number 3 recruiting class that filled the 2 deep depth chart. The farther away he got from what Saban built, the worst his record got. Sort of like Barry Switzer and Jimmy Johnson tenures with the Dallas Cowboys. Barry should thank Jimmie for his Superbowl win as should Miles thank Saban for his national title.

I merely said that just because an organization has success, it doesn't necessarily mean it's because of the leadership.
I mean hell, Gene Chizik won a NC. So did Larry Coker. Curley had success at So Miss. These are all bad head coaches.

What did he do, hand out Viagra to his Kansas players?
I'm sure he was talking about hope and feelings of the program heading in the right direction, but sure, make a dick joke. Very clever.

Because of this refusal, he drove the LSU program back into mediocrity.
LSU hasn't been mediocre in a long time. I think too many of our fans struggle with what mediocre actually means. Les' teams finished outside the top 20 twice in his 11+ years here, one of those being 8 years before he was fired. It's as if there is no middle ground between elite and average.

or maybe he's saying his players expected a new feeling in the program with a new coaching staff with championship experience, a new AD, and a new mentality to try to be better than a perennial doormat. I don't find this comment to be all that quirky at all.

Yes, you guys are not missing him so much that you keep making threads about him every day.
If you're going to let it go, let it go. I doubt there's any program as obsessed with their last fired coach as we are.

Going to the Kansas/TCU game in Sept. in Ft. Worth. My sisters grandson plays on the offensive line for Kansas. I'm gonna wear an LSU hat and a Kansas jersey.
