This whole thing started because you were making things up that Jay Johnson didn’t say. You then said Johnson was honest but now you are saying he isn’t honest. You’re all over the place in this thread.

I am not though. Johnson is not going to bad mouth Dugas to the media. He is honest, but not like that.

To your point:

quote:

If Johnson thought Dugas could only make routine plays, he would have simply said it.

If Johnson thought Dugas could do more than make the routine play, he would have said it.

I know what he said, and i know what he didn't say.

Again, take whatever you want from it. I hope Dugas turns into Ryne Sandberg. That is the last I will say about it. It really is not worth having 10 threads about.

If that is Alex, he must’ve made this account when he was nine.
That’s some straight up Nastradamus stuff right there

Milazzo hasn’t hit .220 since high school. But I understand your point.

Directly out of the Lester Earl playbook. When someone calls him out on his stupid takes and actually has the brain cells to present an argument he goes right to saying you just aren't smart enough to get it.

It’s not that you aren’t smart enough, you are both just insecure and chasing something that isn’t there. You spent your whole Saturday yesterday up my arse because it just eats at you. Looks like the same shite today

I have spent maybe 10 minutes of my time in this thread. And once again, you've been in here much more than anybody else, so what does that say about you?

At no point did he say dugas could ONLY make the routine plays. You can’t get past that for some reason. And I told you the context of the question. He was trying to say that he’s reliable. There was nothing negative in his quote or tone yet that’s your interpretation for some weird reason. And you’re justifying that by saying Jay sends messages and can’t say what he really means. That’s the summary of our disagreement. If you want the conversation to digress into name calling again, go for it. Whatever makes you feel like you’ve won something.

Great teams usually have great defensive catchers.

Yep we keep getting catchers that can't handle what the pitchers are throwing and can't keep runners from stealing 2nd base.

You idiots just spew whatever bullshite makes y’all feel better. Might want to go look at the stats for the 2022 Baseball season. Errors in the field is what hurt us not stolen bases. I’ll make it easy on you and just post it so you don’t have to hurt your brain looking for the stats

Stolen Bases Attempted Against
1)Tenn 105
2)Vandy 69
3)Ark 68
4)SC 65
5)Georgia 61
6)Bama 56
7)Ole Miss 55
Kentucky 55
9)A&M 53
10)Florida 52
11)Auburn 48
12)LSU 42
13)Mizzou 39
14) State 34

Guess what we had 31 stolen bases against us the entire season. If you think that was a huge factor of why we lost when teams like Tenn gave up 87 Stolen bases then you are lying to yourself. We had 82 errors and a pitching staff that wasn’t great, that’s why we lost. Milazzo isn’t going to save the day with his superior arm to second base

Passed balls added plus everybody else’s stolen bases and their passed balls still wouldn’t put us anywhere near top in league. Tenn was best team in country and gave up the most bases imaginable on steals. Just proves the point pitching, hitting, and fielding is more important than having a catcher who bats .180 in your lineup cause he might keep 6-7 more people from stealing 2nd base. McManus’s fielding percentage last year was better than Millazzo’s best year so guess what he makes mistakes too. Our pitching staff didn’t hit spots well at all, you expecting the ball high and inside and they throw it 96mph low and away and it hits your glove a gets by you and they score it as a passed ball. Great pitching makes a catchers job easy

Neal is going to play a whole lot. He's a way better hitter than Milazzo and he won't get better behind the plate without playing. He came here to play right away. With that said, he's barely 18 yrs old and hits LH so you have an experience and matchup thing to manage, and it would be nice to have more than 1 guy so that they all stay fresh anyway. Guy #2 is likely Milazzo, simply because he is the better of the catchers defensively on a team that should score runs even with 8 bats in the lineup. Travinski, Jones, and/or Frey may get some innings behind the plate but their biggest value will be at the plate. I think you see maybe a 60/30/10 split between Neal/Milazzo/others.

Tell that to the rest of these clowns who act like just because we have a great lineup we should make Milazzo our number 1 catcher and let him play majority of the time. Milazzo is great defensively but not so much to make up for all his other short comings. He will get playing time but he won’t have the most innings at catcher unless he found a genie bottle and used all his wishes on being a good hitter

Here's my post on Neal from earlier today.

quote:

I don't think anybody is arguing that Neal isn't good. No matter how good the teams he played for/against in high school, LSU (and the SEC) is a massive step up. He will have his opportunity to prove he can handle it right away, and if he does then he 100% should play.

You are creating a argument in your head and arguing with pretty much nobody.
