I heard on Smoke Laval’s podcast that Milazzo would be exclusively used to DH at leadoff.
I’m skeptical.

Is it broadcast from the bar at Sammy's?

It’s live streamed on a can and string.

I've been saying this about Maldonado too for a few years now yet the Astros keep trotting him out there even over vazquez last year. sigh

Problem is Milazzo can’t hit.

Before the season gets too far gone don't be surprised to see Milazzo be the catcher who finishes games as a defensive sub rather than the starter.
We're going to be ahead of people a lot in the late innings and we won't need offense then.
But some of you are sleeping on Jones. That guy has a bat which might be too good to leave out of the lineup. And you saw with Tyler McManus that Johnson will sacrifice some defense to get a big stick in the lineup (though admittedly Milazzo and Travinski weren't healthy when he went with McManus full time).

I'm sure Jay will look at it both ways. Front line SEC pitching is going to be hard to score on, even for LSU's lineup. You could use Milazzo to start, keep the running game in check, etc then bring in Neal to feast on their bullpen. Or, as you mentioned, you could have Neal start against the better pitching then bring Milazzo in later on. It'll come down to feel for teams' staffs, what kind of pitching they have on the front and back, RHP or LHP, control guys or power guys, etc.

It's pronounced Machete

Neal is supposed to be a good defensive catcher. I don't see how making 1 error in a scrimmage is proof that Milazzo has to start. Milazzo makes an error once in a while, too.

I know his bat lacks. But he’s one of…if not THE best…defensive catcher in the country!
This is just not true. He his a very defensive catcher, but he’s not at the top of college baseball. I’m not sure where fans got this from?

All this excitement about LSU baseball’s amassing of great talent, but Milazzo is still the starting catcher.

He's A starting catcher, not THE starting catcher.
Can you retards that only want to complain at least read a little bit and figure out if your complaint has any fricking merit?

I am tired of having to choose between all defense and no offence, or vice versa. Hopefully we can now recruit to the level that we don't have to make that choice. Milazzo is a defensive superstar, but he is an automatic out. I am anxious to see what Neal can do.

They don’t have many college catchers that are good at both especially when they first get to campus. Maybe not to the extreme of Milazzo but a catcher that is a really good defender and hitter usually goes pro after high school.

Everyone says this but lsu almost always has good two way Catchers. This is simply not true

On Friday nights then let’s DH for him and let Skenes hit

Not only that we’ve had a lot of good freshmen catchers.
Gibbs started 48 games in 2008 his .322 with 2 homers and 35 RBI and lead the team in BA is SEC play.
Ty Ross Started 46 games as a freshmen hit .224 and had 20 RBI. Which would be a career season for Milazzo.
And of course they’re all saying this in support of Milazzo who started at a freshmen.
And Milazzo may be the guy thisnyear, he just had to hit. He has to. He can’t hit sun .200 and not get in base.

My question has always been this: Do his talents behind the plate more than offset his performance at the plate (.157 lifetime)? How do you quantify his overall contribution?
