You think it’s fair to use a 5 game sample size to weigh his entire 3 year career?
and…. Yet here we are with Milam. Sample size? He will inevitably get the yips in a game and we will see how he responds. Can he just flush it? I think so based on how he hits and able to flush it.

What’s his fldg% in the CWS?

I don’t think I can easily find the data needed to calculate that. I’d rather look at the full picture versus a small (albeit critical) sample size. He had a tough series as a freshman, no doubt.

Having said that, my initial point was to support the conversation. A 0.961% career fielding percentage isn’t impressive to me, and I would think the “greatest ever” SS would have a better fielding %. But, it’s a difficult position to play and he started there since day 1 as a freshman. I don’t think he’s the best defensive shortstop we’ve ever had, but he’s absolutely in the conversation. He was steady and made spectacular plays routinely.

He’s a utility player. He mainly plays third base and left field

Bregman wasn’t nearly as good as the rant thinks

He was pretty damn good for a college shortstop. I don’t know what you are looking for?

There were many questioning his ability . I was not one of them. Superior athlete the moment he stepped in campus.

He can’t move past an error he made his freshman season.

You’re right, but that was a bad time to kick one. I’m sure that error still haunts him to some degree.

2016: hit .324 with 20 doubles, two triples, two homers, 39 RBI, 61 runs and 14 stolen bases. First team all-SEC.
these are essentially slightly worse numbers than Milam put up as a freshman, most of which came in conference play and the post season.

When Kramer was a freshman, he wasn’t on the post season roster.

Milam clears.
