When he goes on Hospice they'll permanently keep him in the night house. Until then he's free to do as he pleases.

No. He will be allowed outside until they think it is time to keep him in permanently
Okay, good. I thought it was cruel they wouldn't let him enjoy outside while he could.
And it's part of an effort to let the LSU community say goodbye. He said he's acting fine and eating, so right now business as usual.

Shut up. I'm not crying. You're crying.

Terrible news! I hope the tigers rally for him and win out this year.

Here is a preemptive to PETA if they have the nerve to open their mouths about any of this. It is obvious that this animal has received outstanding care and that he will not suffer in any way. And you can tell by how grief-stricken his care-takers are that this animal was in the best, most caring hands imaginable.
And oh yeah, bite me, PETA.
quote:
obviously I think we're all in agreement with your sentiment
it isn't preemptive though... PETA already sent a letter to Alexander when they 1st announced he had cancer
I think we should all give Alexander a round of applause here for not even giving the hint of caving in to them
well done there... keeping this tradition alive... the live tiger program at LSU probably does more good for tiger conservation efforts and awareness than anything PETA has ever done
I am aware of all of this and I agree with you totally....I just have a feeling like PETA is going to put out some sort of release about this news just to be a pain in the arse and remind us that they are still abreast of the situation. I hope they just keep their thoughts to themselves while we mourn the inevitable loss of Mike.

This is seriously bumming me out.

frick cancer... prayers Mike, beautiful creature..

Mike needs to believe in God and His Healing Power. If he does so, he will get better.

Retire Mike immediately and let him live his last days in peace. If it was my call, I would let him a little tiger sex before he dies.
SJW's, better not let LSU get another tiger rescue Mike.
GO TIGERS AND MIKE.
Let's beat UF.

He is retired. They haven't even tried to bring him in this year.

Gonna miss him. He's an amazing animal.
