This is legit sad. My wife and I are having a baby in the next couple days, and we planned to bring our daughter to see him. Hope we can still make it to see him.

Administration has asked Dr. Baker to start locating young tiger to become Mike VII.

Here is a preemptive 
to PETA if they have the nerve to open their mouths about any of this. It is obvious that this animal has received outstanding care and that he will not suffer in any way. And you can tell by how grief-stricken his care-takers are that this animal was in the best, most caring hands imaginable.

Cliff notes from Dr. Baker presser:
- Tumor has spread to sinus cavities, neck, chest and front legs
- Prognosis is 1 to 2 months
- One Mike starts to feel pain, they will put him in hospice care and euthanize him
- Mike will be out in the habitat for the time being for the LSU community to say goodbye
- Dr. Baker got the greenlight from the admins to start looking for Mike VII. Last Mike search took 3 months.
- Tumor has spread to sinus cavities, neck, chest and front legs
