Prayers for his family.
What a nice guy Leach was!
I never missed a moment when a mic was put in his face for a comment, b/c you never knew what he was going to say!
He was one of the good guys in a sport filled with self-absorbed, over paid jerks.

Rest in Peace, Coach.

I love the story about how when his first State team beat us in 2020 Leach gave a game ball to his scout team quarterback. Leach explained, "He ran LSU's offense better than they did."
He was ornery, but he was highly enjoyable.
Our prayers go out to his family and to all the Mississippi State family.

I hate to hear this. I enjoyed him like many of you did.
RIP and prayers to his family, friends and Mississippi State community.

Wow, sorry to hear.....lots of stress with that type of job for sure.

Very sad. Reading one of his obituaries, it became apparent that his coaching tree and QB protégés are genuinely impressive.

RIP Coach! Prayers to his wife and kids at this sad time. Thanks for allowing his organs to be shared with those in need of kidneys and livers at this time. You made at least 3 families XMAS's so so bright.

RIP Coach, you will be missed.
Loved the postgame on field interview where the QB was proposing to his girl friend and the reporter asked Leach if he had any advice for his QB. Without missing a beat he replied "It appears we're too late for that."

He's gone to that great pirate ship in the sky. Godspeed, Coach.

Yes, he will be missed for sure.
Living in an area where Texas Tech receives plenty of coverage, Mike Leach's successes at that school are fondly remembered.
One of the real characters among college football coaches.
