Let's start the PR campaign now. It will be great attention for LSU. There is no reason Mettenberger shouldn't win the Heisman. This would be fabulous for LSU!!!

We already started this for ODB. Mett will have to settle for the Maxwell and Manning.

Like your enthusiasm and really like Mett's enhanced participation in the offense but there is almost zero chance of him making it to New York much less winning the Heisman.

He's only thrown 37 passes in the last two games. There are QB's all across the nation compiling incredible stats that Mett will never match.

He has looked good in the pre-season, but lets not get carried away just yet...

He goes on the road and beats UGA and Bama in addition to beating TAMU at home and I think it won't matter if he's not throwing for as many yards.

As for what I have sen thus far, You would see Beckham or Landry in NY before Mett.

There are other QBs doing the same thing. Let's see how he does vs teams like UGA.

I hate to tell you that JFF's 500 yds a game of Total offense will trump Mett. One announcer a couple of weeks ago pointed out that JFF could drop 100 yds per game in total offense from last year and still win it... He had almost 600 yds TO against the vaunted Bama D yesterday.

Don't get me wrong though I am tickled pink with Mett's play and if he manages to keep play and leadership where it is and get into the NCG his chances will be much better and might get an invite to NY. If he outduels Murray for a win in UGA I believe you will start to see him mentioned.

Perhaps, if he is the deciding factor in those games. We beat Bama in Tuscaloosa in 2011 and none of us would credit the QB play with the win.

I don't think he's in the hunt but you never know.

If this happens, along with 12-0, someone from LSU will be in New York. I don't think an LSU player will win it though. No one will stand out above other players at the same position around the country.

The interesting thing is that the player who goes will most likely be on the offensive side which would surprise a lot of people.

It's about PR. LSU's public relations department needs to get going to get us the national attention.

Meh, the way that A&M defense is playing I don't think he will get it. Why? Those yards have a chance to be discounted when A&M fails to compile a signature win. He had a big win last year (and did crazy stuff doing it).

The odds it happens two years in a row is slim and hence only one two time winner.

Plenty of guys rack up stats every year and don't get consideration because the yards didn't achieve anything.

Any fan who thinks Mett has had a better start than Manziel, Bridgewater, and the Florida state kid needs to remove the purple glasses

JFF won't win it this year regardless of what he does...character issues and the fact that many voters won't vote for last year's winner
