Starting 5:
G - JHill v Pinson
G - Miller vs Murray
G/F - Hayes/JWilliams/Mwani vs Gaines/Efton/Mwani
F - Fountain vs Days
F - KJ vs Eason

Bench:
F - Hannibal vs Fudge
F - Reed vs O'Neal

This matchup seems like a push to be honest

Hahahahahaha.

If you say so.

Should be easy to tell which was a better team after sec play. Lets see if this team makes the tourney.

Huh? A push how?

Eason borderline lottery pick. KJ is a 2nd rd pick at Best But prob UDFA

Pinson was just ok but Hill is not close to him

Days over Fountain easy. All SEC vs fringe SEC player

Miller v Murray push

Hill over Pinson (slightly)
Miller over Murray
Days over Fountain
Eason over any frontcourt player on this team
KJ over Reid

The singular difference (right now) between last year's team and this year's team is that last year's team had an ELITE defense whereas this year's team defense has been just pretty good. The other, slightly lesser, difference is last year's group was a better offensive rebounding team and better FT shooting team.

Last year's offense was the worst in the Wade era. By a LARGE margin. This year's offense hasn't been good...but it has still been (slightly) better than last year's group (again, thus far).

Assuming that this is just for fun then a better comparison would be this yrs roster vs this yrs potential roster under Wade.

Have to wait until conf play. Last yrs team had a Top 50 non-conf SOS. This yrs team is currently 158.

Kenpom ranking of last year's team at this time was much higher than this year's team is now. So far, it's not a contest. We will have to wait and see if this team can even make the ncaa tournament.

Hill is shooting 33/23/65 and they haven’t played a good team yet

He makes Eric Gaines look like Chris jackson

I stopped here, just no.

Pinson was definitely better than Hill has been here, and Hill ha splayed practically nobody yet by comparison.

Pinson shot 37/24/80 last year, so it's not like he was significantly better. Pinson also averaged 3 turnovers per game...double what Hill is averaging right now. And that was consistently happening in early season games last year...that only got worse once SEC play started.

Hill was shooting 34% (overall) 26% (three) before the last 3 games. Again, not good at all. But in comparison to Pinson's numbers really not that far off.

That's not to say Hill has been great (he hasn't). But I trust him controlling the offense a bit more than Pinson. For reference, LSU was ranked 323rd in the nation last season in turnovers per game. Pinson led LSU in turnovers per game and turned the ball over on nearly 23% of his possessions. Compare that with Hill who, despite being LSU's primary ball handler, is only averaging a little over 1 TO per game (11% of his possessions)

Everyone pissed and moaned about LSU not having a "true PG" last year. Now they have one and some on here are clamoring for the guy they complained about last season. Pinson was a better, though inconsistent scorer, last season. But the only thing he did with consistency was turn the ball over. Give me a PG that takes care of the ball first and foremost.

Pinson also a more useful defensive player over a very small Hill.

KJeep in mind you're comparing Pinsons numbers from last year which include a full SEc slate vs. Hill's numbers which are 80% against cupcakes.

Pinson had a 0.2 OBPM and 2.9 DBPM for a 3.1 overall BPM. Hill is -1.7 OBPM and 0.7 DBPM for a total of -1.0 BPM.

Just really not all that close. Hill would barely get any minutes on last year's team. Hannibal wouldnt get any. Hayes I'm warming up to but we'll see how he does vs. SEC.

Very unlikely. Given the epic weakness of the non-con schedule, that would mean the Tigers go at least 12-6 in conference play with a couple upsets of the conference players. It's not happening.

Miller vs Miler?

Miller over Murray from last year isn’t happening. Murray was as important last year as Eason. That’s how why they lost that first game.

Murray is an elite defender and a VERY physical guard

yeah these McMahon can boys want nothing to do with that. They know. This years team with returning vets like Murray, Miller, ONeal and all that talent coming in would have wiped the floor with this bunch and it wouldn’t be close. You’re talking a Top 10 team EASY this year.
