It's because he's not from Zachary. If McMillan was from Zachary and Scott was from Texas, all we would be hearing about is how good McMillan is.

Agreed, I feel the same way.

that is true. anyone who saw him play in HS knew he wasnt a SEC quality QB.

I find this funny because as I remember, when the recruiting board looked at Lodge, many asked who was the QB throwing to him, because he looked good. After he committed to us then it seemed like they didn't like him (McMillan) as much anymore.

McMillan did always looked like a group of 5 level QB to me, but that doesn't mean bad.

You do realize he was going to Mizzou before he decommitted and committed here right?

I know Mizzou sucks, but you said no SEC offers and only mid majors.

This is false. His only other FBS offers were Arkansas State and UNLV.

Rivals

247

Hope the best for him, but I don't see him ever becoming an SEC starter.

He's got others ahead of him, that's all. To his credit, he's team first, loves LSU and supports his teammates. Not sure why anyone would feel the need to criticize him.

Plenty of qbs do well that aren't highly touted. He's got the arm and the smarts. Whether it's good enough we will see but I wouldn't count him out by any means. Many times it takes a few years to get the position down.

I'm not going to judge any QB for their performance under Les and Cam. I'll reserve judgment until I see what Canada can do with him.

He's wildly accurate on the screens and short slants . You have to give him that. And he has that weird whip release that seems to help on the short ball but hurt on the long ball.

I dont know what you you hear but everything I have heard from the media and pretty much on here is that #2 is either McMillan or Scott. Neither has separated themself from the other.

FWIW here is their Bio's

McMillan

Talented quarterback prospect who is still adjusting to the speed of the college game … Bright young player who has a strong arm and quick feet to escape the pocket … After redshirting as a true freshman a year ago he will push returner starter Brandon Harris and junior transfer Danny Etling in the fall.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2015)
Redshirted as a true freshman in 2015.

HIGH SCHOOL
Dual-threat southpaw that led his high school to consecutive state titles in 2013 and 2014 ... Enrolled early at LSU and participated in spring drills ... Rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, Scout and ESPN ... Threw for 2,854 yards and 37 touchdowns with only four interceptions as a senior while rushing for 656 yards and six touchdowns ... Ranked as high as No. 36 at his position by 247Sports ... Earned second team All-District 7-5A as a junior after accounting for 2,692 total yards and 35 touchdowns ... Coached by Joey McGuire.

Scott

Gifted quarterback who displays tremendous leadership … Named the Gatorade Louisiana Football Player of the Year in 2015 after leading Zachary to 5A state title with a 46-12 win over John Ehret in championship game … Guided Zachary to a 14-1 mark in 2015 … Named Mr. Football in Louisiana by the LSWA in 2015 … Two-time 5A offensive most player valuable player in Louisiana as a junior and senior … Student of the game with a very high football IQ … Outstanding in the classroom as well with a 3.8 grade point average … 3-star prospect according to ESPN, Scout, Rivals, and 247sports … No. 1 quarterback in Louisiana per Scout and rated as the nation's 28th-best dual-threat QB according to 247sports … Accounted for 5,002 total yards and 61 TDs as a senior … Connected on 163-of-255 passes for 3,039 yards, 33 TDs and just five interceptions … Added another 1,963 yards and 28 touchdowns on the ground for the most prolific offensive season for any player ever in the Baton Rouge area … Zachary was also first public school in East Baton Rouge Parish to win a state football title since 1974 (Tara High School) … Accounted for 316 total yards (229 passing, 87 rushing) and five TDs in state championship game win over John Ehret … Awarded the 2015 Warrick Dunn and Sportsline Player of the Year from WAFB-TV … Selected to the First Team MaxPreps All-American Team as an athlete … Member of the All-USA Louisiana First Team Offense … Coached by David Brewerton.

Etling is having a really good spring. McMillan is really pushing him. Scott has looked good in scrimmages. The depth chart seems to be locked. Etling, McMillan, Scott (in that order). There is probably not going be much reason to change that until next year (unless something unexpected happens).

The report (from people who attended practice/scrimmages) that came out said that he's the most accurate of all of the QB's. So either we are up shite's creek at QB, or you don't know what you are talking about. I'm going with the latter.

Lol. McMillan has no chance to pass up Danny. And if something happened to Danny and another QB was put in the game, I'm willing to bet Scott or one of the freshmen would go in. McMillan is inaccurate, his arm strength is suspect, and he's not fast like people like to say on here.

exactly. Every player on our roster voluntarily signed to play here, knowing full well that LSU is an elite football program, which comes with high expectations and high pressure. Especially for a QB.

So yes, we can appreciate and respect the work and effort a player puts in, but this isn't D-II football. Fair criticism comes with the territory.

Lol, and I heard Harris would never be the starter.

Seriously, McMillan is an injury away from getting in a game. The guy didn't win back to back state titles because he sucks.

Besides the reports we are hearing are just like Eitling. Pushing for the #2 spot and others laughed it off. Dude became the starter.
