Let's go! A new season full of hope is upon us.
Time for our baws to bring the heat, much like our fearless leader...

He will def have a short leash with Woodward gone

Let’s go!!
Reed’s bounce back from ACL will be important. Miller showed flashes of being unstoppable last year but has been banged up a little. Sutton I think might be our second best player after Thomas. If he can hit 3’s with his athleticism, that could change our trajectory. Nwoko is said to have surprised ppl with his skills not just his natural athleticism
The big key is gonna be the 2 guard. Sounds like Ron Zipper hasn’t played or practiced much, which is disappointing. He was pretty well regarded and multiple years of pro basketball in a high level league. That leaves Makinnon and King. Mak seems to be a sharpshooter and floor spreader. With the way our team is built, we don’t need a ton, just to be able to hit open shots

The real issue with this team is going to be defense.
I think we’ll be improved from PG, ORB, 3PT status, but getting stops is the concern.

. In my opinion, he will get another year if he improves from last year's team.
quote:so you saying that 14 other teams have more resources than LSU in the SEC?
LSU basketball is not like LSU football right now where we can go out and hire big name guys.
quote:likes hasn’t nothing to do with it, that’s why Woodward got fired. It’s tournament or he’s got to go. No more blaming the General
I like CMM, seems like he's well respected in the locker room and around campus from admin staff.

Hondo, what section and what you want for em?
We already have 4 but could have used some extras the last couple years (believe it or not). I would message you privately, but don't know how.
edit: nvm, I found your other post.

A lot depends on the rehab of Reed and the continued development of Robert Miller. Reed will take a while and everyone responds differently to ACL surgery. Miller showed promise at end of last year. If he can continue to improve on his post up play they could be a tournament team as I believe they will be better offensively with a true proven PG and shooters on the perimeter. Nwoko showed some offensive skills that I didn't know he had in the exhibition game against UCF. Unfortunately the Zipper didn't get to play due to injury that game nor did Miller but Mckinnon and Sutton showed some consistency in that area and Tamba plays with a motor and does a lot of the little things especially rebounding. They play UNO Monday that upset TCU last week. They will be a good gauge where we are 3 games in. Need Reece to grow up fast as freshman backup PG as we struggled some with Thomas on the bench.

Assuming he’s injured?

And in reference to the 15 TO in the UCF game only 5 in the 2nd half. It will take a little time to get used to playing with each other but the ball movement was good. And was without Zipper and Miller and Reed isn't 100% yet.

I agree, of course defense will be a big question since we’ve never played good D under MM and we don’t do much in terms of presenting different looks. The real tell will be can someone besides the PG emerge as someone who can play with the ball in their hands? Once we get into the real schedule it won’t matter how good he is opponents will take him away or load up and hamper his options. Who is going to be the 2nd and 3rd guy that can create?

I ordered tickets earlier today and they still have not sent the digital tickets.
Been on the phone waiting for someone at the ticket office to pick up for 10 minutes now

From what I saw in the UCF game the BBall IQ of these players looks to be better than last year. Mckinnon drove and dished a couple of times and Sutton can handle the ball also. Would have liked to seen Zipper but he was hurt. Jalen Reece will need to mature quickly as he will be the backup PG for now.

Well that's some early goal post moving from the people that hate him. Now there are stipulations on how he makes the tournament? It's simple make the tournament and he stays another year, get left out and find a new job. Play in, 10 seed, 11 seed does not matter. It's as white or black as you will ever see it for a coach
I'm not saying that's MY personal standard for success. I'm opining that given there was a push to replace him last year with Wade and the people responsible for blocking that push (Tate/Woodward) are now gone, there's no reason to believe those same people won't push again...only this time with a VERY friendly administration.
