IMHO playing hard should always be expected and be a given. I think for the most part, there are a couple of exceptions last year, the team has played hard.
Playing smart, developing and improving both collectively and individually is what I want to see. If we do those things as the season progresses - I will be pleased.

Nicholls game was on November 10. That's a long time ago, IMO.
Our team is playing better but I still doubt we can win 9 SEC games and be 9-9 in SEC play.

I don't think that there are more than six winnable games for LSU this year. I can potentially see four more wins -- rematch w. Vandy, Missouri at PMAC, Georgia in the PMAC, Arky in the PMAC (they don't look very good this year). LSU won't be competitive against the big cats this year-- Auburn, Kentucky, Bama or Tennessee.

Agreed, the development and improvement would have to progress at a far more accelerated than it has been for that to happen.

If they were to somehow win or if they play a very close game, it would say a lot. I think we'd be safe in saying this team is waaaay better than any of us would have predicted before SEC play started and that it could be legit competitive in the SEC and not one of the very bottom teams.

Today will be a good indicator.
If we win or even keep it close we can be competitive with the rest of the conference, IMO.
There doesn't appear to be a big difference from top to bottom of the conference, at this time.

Nicholls loss was a fluke, those things happen in basketball.
Every other loss was to a good team. We should have beat Dayton, we choked a double digit lead within minutes.
Syracuse was an ugly loss. Terrible game.
I think we beat K State with cook playing.
We fought well with Texas with cook and with the refs making a lot of bullshite calls
