There were plenty of people here in August 2021 who thought Max was a good QB. Remember that when you read QB discussions for 2022.

I think everyone knew from the day he transferred that he'd never be more than a backup at A&M barring an injury from someone ahead of him. He would've probably been a backup at LSU this year also though.

If he had stayed, Brennan would not have come back. Daniels never transfers here. So unless Walker Howard or Nuss beats him out, he’s the starter at LSU. With all that being said, thank god he transferred allowing our much improved QB room to happen.

don’t celebrate Max’s situation

Same here. What I don’t understand is once you get to be a starter in the SEC, why would you give that up? I realize it’s a new coach and their staff and all that blah blah but having been a starter is a status that doesn’t go away just because he change regimes. People still viewed him as a starter here at LSU.

"LSU Transfer Max Johnson is doing the same thing he did in Baton Rouge and that's holding the ball too long." I'm not saying I want him back, but does that statement also go for that last pass that beat their arse last year?

Could this be a situation where Jimbo took Max to get his brother ?

I've said it all along:

-zero pocket awareness
-weak/average arm
-looping wind up

I think he could see the potential in Nuss and figured he would loose his spot. That's probably why he transfered. So he goes to sit behind someone else. LoL

He would be 3rd string at LSU as well.

He would be 3rd only because Walker is a True Freshman and he has 14 starts I think it is. If you rate them strictly on ability and talent, he is 4th.

He transferred because his brother was going to 8&4.

Well-despite all that-he managed to beat their arse last year as that QB who holds on too long-and the other QBs can't say that!!

The copium of “because he doesn’t know the system”. No he’s just indecisive and makes bad decisions when he does choose.

That was very predictable but at least the Aggies reeled in the tight end they wanted.

Spot on. He just never processed the field quickly. Cost us a late touchdown to take the lead in the Alabama game.
