There were plenty of people here in August 2021 who thought Max was a good QB.

I still think he was pretty decent. So do his stats.

His film says otherwise. Lots of missed reads, poor pre snap judgements, bad pocket awareness & poor throws that allowed a lot of plays to be left unmade.

He aired on the side of caution, for sure, but he was enjoyably accurate. We’ll probably see some screens and slants botched this year that Max would have thrown perfectly. He seemed frustrating in the moment, but rewatching some of the games has me thinking about what could have been with another year and new staff

Yep, but at least we would’ve had his brother at TE, I miss getting him signed way more than Max in the QB room.

When he left i was mainly pissed ab losing his blue chip TE brother. Feels like Mason Taylor is gonna make that a moot point!

I don’t miss Max but I had to rewatch his game winning throw against 8&4. That was a thing of beauty, he got clobbered and still dropped it in a bucket

And the correct term is "err on side of caution."

Must suck to be a package deal for your brother. Pretty clear who the favorite son is.

Huh? His career completion % is a shade under 60%. His passes were behind or low to receivers.

Yep I’ll never forgive leaving before bowl. Absolutely no reason other than to hurt LSU. Chickenshit

Is this even true about Johnson being 3rd string? Seems like even the A&M fans don’t know who the guy will be. But from what I’ve seen it’s between King and Johnson.

They were young. Still are. His arm is about what Burrow’s was at the same age. He’s fairly athletic. If he continues to work at being a QB he has a lot of potential.

I mean, I guess. Johnson is more athletic and throws a better ball. Finely is so damn raw, but has a much better arm. They both are damn good with a dominant running game and when given more than an average amount of time to throw, can light it up (but so could 3/4 of the QB's in the SEC).

What's odd is if Johnson had transferred to Auburn, he would by the starter, hands down.

He would be running 3d or 4th here....

Holding the ball too long....AKA Bama game which cost us big.

Do you think if he stayed at LSU he would be the starter this year?
