Just feel like this isn't talked about enough. Tied for highest paid defensive coordinator in college football. Still not as bad as Pelini 2.3 mil per year (which shows how ridiculous that contract was).

Other fun facts:
LSU's offense is 4th in the country, defense is 117th.
Ole Miss averaged 20 YARDS PER PLAY in the first quarter.
LSU has given up 155 points in 5 games this year and 31 per game (take out Grambling that number is 36.25 ppg).
LSU has generated 5 turnovers (3 if you take out Grambling).
LSU's defense is 117th in third down conversions with opponents converting 47% of the time (once again, take out Grambling and this is 52%, which would be 128th out of 130).

it honestly shocking how bad we are.

House was fine last year, even good at times.

the talent took a step back, the turnover happened and he has not adjusted the scheme for the players we have.

we also refuse to play younger guys.

I don't see how we don't fire the entire defensive staff and start from scratch.

When you write the stats out it’s unfathomable that the defense is this bad. Maybe Kelly will prove me wrong but I don’t see how this isn’t a sign of a massive culture problem and the impending end of his tenure, I can’t see us coming back from this with Kelly as our head coach. He’s totally lost me

The BK lead program is dissolving quickly. Wow.

Can't take out Grambling unless you remove cupcakes from everyone elses stats too, but the point of all this is:

No matter how you slice it or how you try to phrase things about the LSU defense, one thing is certain. WE ARE BAD AT DEFENSE and it is 100% COACHING. There's not 100 other programs with more talent than us. They just have the players that they do have in better positions to make plays and better coached to understand assignments.

Youth and inexperience in a system is NO EXCUSE. There are transfers all over the country playing for new teams who are missing the same amount of assignments as us. And, we were one of the top ranked teams in terms of Transfers, so that means in the eyes of everyone, we got quality. They didn't magically get worse. They are NOT BEING COACHED properly.

How about Kelly making $10 mil per year?
Unbelievably, I'm starting to think that Orgeron was a better coach than Kelly.

For reference, we gave up 155 points in the entire 2011 season.

LSU's worse defense in there history. Hate to say it, but coach O can coach the defense up better than this idiot.

Still parroting this is just obscene after watching Welch miss 37 tackles

Stamps played a ton. Welch played a ton. Weeks played a ton. Yaites played a ton.

I mean wasn't Notre Dame 4-8 a few years and then Kelly got them back to the playoffs?

no he did not.

he played and made maybe the best defensive play of the season, but did not play a ton.

We started Speights over Weeks. insane.

we’re still starting Savion Jones and Ovie Oghoufo who average a combined 4 tackles and 0.2 sacks a game

how many times you wanna watch Jones look at a rb that blew by him or a QB he didn’t get close to?

Saturday was the most yards given up by an LSU defense ever. Steve Spurrier’s early 90s Florida teams did not get that many yards against Curly Hallmans LSU teams to put that in perspective.
