Absolutely the Raiders. 3 year starter at LSU one more National Championship.

Guess the LSU coaches didn't know what they were doing with Russell ahead of Flynn on the depth chart.

If he holds on to the backup for awhile, He could be something. He's just an injury away from being on the stage. Who knows?

Collins--a glorified backup QB--simply a journeyman that fills in when called upon.

Collins has a great arm. His head (alcohol) was the only thing that got his career off track at times.

I was scrolling down to be sure someone said this:

"Collins has a great arm."

Collins is a different type of beast than the others listed as examples. Who knows how good Flynn will end up being - i hope he does great - but it is not as if Flynn has the kind of talent that Collins had coming out of college.

No kidding.

How about this: Flynn is doing very well as a backup QB, and if he continues to improve, he might eventually become a starting NFL QB.

OP, most of the teams that you mention have experience at the QB position. Even if Flynn has the talent to be an NFL starter right now (a debatable proposition), he certainly needs more experience before anyone would give him a chance to start.

I love Flynn, but I have doubts about his NFL ability because of his arm. He doesn't have the strongest arm in the first place, but he always succumbed to camp arm at LSU before the season started and his last year he didn't throw as much in camp to save his arm, but they aren't going to do that for him in the NFL. Also, as his Sr. season went on his arm got hurt and you saw the effects late in the year. Not saying he can't be a NFL starter, I just have concerns about his arms durability.

If Flynn were in, say, Carolina, for example, he'd definitely be pushing Delhomme for his starting spot because I think that Jake is on the decline.

Dude did you even read the article. Or do you ever hear how much the Packers talk about how much he is improving, and how much they like him. Have you ever watched how good he looks in preseason. If you have done any of these things you would realize that he is by no means lucky. He has worked hard and deserves it. And I really think he will get a starting job somewhere.

And really, isn't that just about the best job on the team? Make a good living without the risk of career ending injury. The fans usually love the backup QB. Sounds like a sweet gig to me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

MF>JR.

I'm not knocking J Rock. I just think Flynn is better.

i can tell you one thing, if drew brees went down id feel more comfortable with Flynn than I would with a 40 yr old Brunell or a disastrous Harrington.
