I'm so tired of hearing this. Give LSU credit where it's due.

Stop looking stats and watch the damn game. The offense is vastly improved

I think it's pretty clear the offense hasn't hit on all cylinders. I would attribute that to multiple reasons:

OL injuries and changes and adjustments to new blocking schemes. We recruited downhill blockers not trap and pull guys.

Guice injuries early on and adjustment to running style. Guice is used to hitting the hole more than being patient for blocks to develop.

WR development. All of the motion and talk of how much movement was required pre-snap added to a mostly inexperienced WR group.

QB. As much as I like Danny, he has struggled with consistency. He's been late on pulling the trigger on deep throws, didn't trust his WRs and has struggled with intermediate passes. He also has not trusted his blockers and learned to step up in the pocket.

It has been disappointing that it has taken so long since he did so well year 1 at Pitt, but he may need another year with this group. Despite a likely drop off at RB I think the offense will do well next season.

It really hasn't though, we scored 28.2 ppg last year, so it's actually gotten worse.

Yet, he's so bad that not a single other recruit can beat him out of the job.

IF that aint discouraging, I dont know what is

It is a big problem that doesn’t make next year look very encouraging.

Well with the fact that we'll finish 4-4 at worst and 6-2 at best with the latter being the more likely outcome, I'd say OP is a little bitch

And the worst in the SEC west. Only mustering up 26.2 ppg. How do you expect to compete in the West when you're being outscored by every other team? Our point differential in conference is 0. 134 PF vs 134 PA.

Yeah lets be Texas A & M or Missouri and put up all kinds of scores against weak opponents of fellow SEC East teams. Auburn scored 47 on SEC East champ Georgia and LSU held them to 20.

Lets don't forget this team has played with 2 and sometimes 3 freshmen in its offensive line. They are currently at worst the # 5 team in the SEC and possibly the # 2 or # 3 team. Lets see how Auburn fares against BAMA and how Georgia does in the SEC title game.

Meaningless stat. It is how many more points you score as opposed to how many your defense allows in any one game. In other words you win by one and lose by 10, you are still 1-1.

yea, but come on. When you win by 20, it's a hell of a lot more impressive than winning by 1. Yea I know, the W/L record is the same, but it's more telling as to how good a team really is.

And I agree with an earlier poster, point differential isn't really the best stat because it's too much affected by our defense, which Canada has no control over. Points per possession seems more relevant.

Okay so going off those metrics, it seems like LSU is faring a little better.

22nd in Off S&P, 21st in Def S&P and 86th in ST S&P

Football Outsiders S&P rankings

FIRE BDP.

Calm down gramps, I was at that game too. As well as LSU play in the second half, let's not forget the score was 20-0 rather quickly.

Yeah and it was 27-3 the rest of the way.

Stick to the narrative though!

skewed numbers. the team didn't start hitting it's stride with this offense and showing progress until the florida game. since then, we have scored 25.4 ppg and given up 19.4 ppg. given that two of those teams have elite defenses and that Etling missed chark open down the field 5 times against bama, I think Canada has done a fine job

Some of y'all seem to just live for pulling up negative stats. You're the same people that bitch about the losses in 2007 or 2003 instead of cherishing the championships.

Is our offense what it should be? Not exactly, bit it's his first year. I'm reserving my criticism for next season after Canada and the team has a full season under their belts.

Yeah the LSU team had absolutely nothing to do with those wins.
