LSU needs be looking for some infield help in the transfer portal or a bat to add to the lineup
Unless there is a graduate transfer out there available, I'm not sure why they would look to the 4to4 transfer market for anything.
We've typically only done it when programs are shutting down and we can get a guy with immediate eligibility.

Absolutely. There has to be a few small school studs looking to transfer to a big-time program for a year or two. There are always a few entering the portal in football.
And we would be okay with them soaking up a roster spot and not playing for a year?

Mathis is such a great kid. Outstanding at many aspects of being a catcher. Just not quite an SEC starter.

Who else do you think moves on? I am guessing two more pitchers for sure?

Just from a numbers standpoint my guess would be a couple more pitchers. We carried 20 this year, which is more than normal. I don't see that happening again.

I have absolutely no insider info, but my guess is that two or three of Threadgill, Gunter, George, and Costello will not be at LSU next year. Hal has to be thinking about what is best for his future, even though he will not be pushed out. I think if Storz is still not ready to play in the fall, Mainieri will encourage him to find another place to play instead of clogging a roster spot for a third year.

This raises the question: what happens if someone enters the transfer portal but doesn't receive any offers?
Posted on 6/11/19 at 4:15 pm to TigersSEC2010
I think Threadgill will be one of them.
Something tells me Storz ends up leaving this team. I just don’t have a great feeling on that one.
Last prediction is someone from the freshman class will not show up.

They get cut. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the team is having their exit interviews today

I hope Hughes has some STD meds because, based on this thread, he's fricked a lot of guys wives and girlfriends.

Hope they both tear it up for their next team.

Why would Ripoll leave? Got to play as a freshman and improved as the season progressed.

More like because he got fricked by every SEC pitcher he faced.

I understand the frustration with Hughes, but the people wanting him to transfer out are idiots. We can’t put all of our eggs in Doughty’s basket. If Doughty goes down or can’t play the position, we have nobody else.
