Honor to have him in Purple and Gold. Fantasy leagues beware. This dude will play 10 years plus in the league and probably wear a yellow jacket someday. I really believe that.

Makes total sense. Not sure how much more he would have gained in terms of draft stock if he came back

Interesting that he didn’t even mention Joe Sloan…

Best wishes to Mason. Wish we could have watched him another year but I'm excited to see what he can do at the NFL level

We threw the ball 40+ times a game and didn’t involve Taylor nearly as much as we should have for the talent he had. It was a shame, really. Dude was an absolute beast and he’s going to do what Brock Bowers is doing in the League if he is in an offense that uses him correctly.

I hope he ends up somewhere he's used. Honestly........Miami would be sweet for Dad and Uncle.

I never got the impression from his interviews that he just loved LSU or being here. It was more about getting to the league ASAP. Which is fine. I expected him to be a 3 and out guy barring some crazy circumstances

He actually did love lsu. He passed on a lot of money from Miami to stick with us. It’s too bad Sloan had to frick up a good thing yet again

Severely underutilized. Sometimes you forgot he was out there. Sloan sucked arse this year so much.

You are just looking for an excuse to hate on Sloan, or LSU. Mason was 2nd in receptions with 55 only behind Lacy with 58 catches. Mason was 3rd in receiving yards with 548, only trailing Lacy (866) & Anderson (784). He was 4th in average per catch at 9.9 ypc, behind Lacy (14.9), Anderson (14.8) & Daniel’s (11.4). (This excludes receivers with less than 10 catches all season).
Finally Mason was 3rd in average per game at 45.5, trailing Lacy (72.2) & Anderson (65.3) YPG. So he was not underutilized at all. He was clearly our 3rd best receiver and he will be missed. Haters gonna hate!

I started a post on SEC rant saying Mason was Brock Bowers younger twin and got roasted. I still think I was right. Brock might be a little tougher to bring down after a catch, but otherwise you are nit-picking. Mason will always be a great Tiger!

So you think he will break the rookie record for receptions? Bowers is on pace for 119 receptions. The rookie record is 105 (all players, not TEs only).

To put that in LSU context, OBJ had 91, Jets had 88, Jarvis had 84, and Chase had 81.

I love Mason and think he could be a long time starter in the NFL, but Bowers is a different breed.

Too many questions and unknowns surround this team for any top 4 round projected guy to come back and risk it. I'll be shocked if Emory comes back.

This is such a crazy take

As an example, Nuss could easily work himself into a first round pick next season if he continues to play like he did vs OU

Plenty of other non first or second round guys could use some more time to develop and increase their stock

Yes we have concerns but LSU is a NFL factory

No surprise here.

One of the best TEs in LSU history. Gonna leave a big void to fill.

Good luck to Mason at the next level.

I'm happy for Mason and hope he kills it in the NFL. He is/was a great role model for what every LSU Tiger should aspire to be.
