That's just another way of saying that it is not the X's and O's, it's the Jim's and Joe's. As in the quality of players you are running whatever scheme you decide to run. Which is way more important to success.

It’s not a slight to say that. The best schemes are the simpliest ones because they allow players to play fast and not have to over think things. Teams that are hard to figure out are usually the ones just guessing and have no real plan of what they are trying to do

Sounds to me he's saying LSU has great athletes. What's the problem?

It doesn't jive with the narrative that Miles left O with a depleted roster.

True, sometimes you have to simplify things to play faster. But when you don't have the horses ( O at Ole Miss) it doesn't matter what you do. Look at Saban at Michigan state when he was recruiting average players. Now at Alabama he is recruiting elite players, and he is virtually unbeatable.

He hasn't even coached against LSU since 2013. So we haven't changed at all during almost 7 years. I call bullshite! He knows we are big ,fast , strong but that's it. Most SEC schools are all the above, just look at the history of SEC football against other conferences

I think that being big, strong, and fast, is what he was talking about.

Anyone with a brain realizes that LSU was as far away from a rebuild as you can get when O took over.

Didn't Aranda say earlier in the offseason that he'd been simplifying his stuff the last couple of years and only had 2 or 3 calls going into a game because his guys weren't picking up his stuff like he wanted. This offseason he decided, screw it, I'm doing my stuff and if you don't study and work to learn it then you won't play. Seems like the rant spent 2 or 3 weeks discussing this. So Richt would be correct to an extent, but it sounds like if he thinks that'll be the case week 1 this year then he's in for quite a shite storm.
