Right. He’ll sing the praises of other 9 win teams.
I guess LSU isn’t good enough for him unless we win a Natty. What a petulant, bandwagon, front runner.

Nice try, Marcus but you’ve burned your bus ticket long time ago. Besides, you are already firmly on Sabans. Booger too. Y’all just keep bashing LSU and looking like idiots.

Hit the nail on the head, when he's downing LSU he could potentially sway a recruit away.

You need to follow Booger more closely if you think he's in Spears' boat.
ETA: You didn't see it, but Booger was pumped this morning. Dropped a Hot Boudin cheer on national TV. He's digging it and letting everyone know.
Spears is defending himself.
That's all you need to know.

What Spears said is simply what most "negatigers" say.
The homers still won't accept it though.

Actually, he came off a little like a "professional" that is having trouble ignoring some criticism that comes along with being a professional on TV.

He can't admit he has been wrong about LSU and Coach O.
He was one of the guys pumping Orgeron to get the job.
His outlook for this season was like most other analysts in the country. It's not his job to cheerlead LSU.
It's funny how posters on this board like to preach that the "expert opinions" don't matter, then get their asses chapped when an all-American and national champion for LSU says something they don't agree with.

He gets paid to be an analyst, not recruit for LSU.
Never said he was, but if he purports to love LSU and wants us to get back to winning championships, he needs to realize the role he's potentially playing in preventing that from happening.
CEO and staff are busting their asses to win games on the field and in recruits homes. When they do an in-home visit and do their very best pitch to a 5-star recruit on how LSU is the best place for that player, and pitch our program against other programs in the division, how do you think that recruit feels when he turns on the TV that night and hears Spears dog his own alma mater? He's actively planting the seed of doubt about the program and the staff in recruit's minds. You're kidding yourself if you think a 16, 17, or 18 year old isn't swayed by that.
Whether he's paid to or not isn't the issue, but the fact remains he's been negatively recruiting LSU on national TV and we simply cannot afford any of that.
Do you think for one second if McElroy came out critically about Bama a few times, his phone wouldn't ring? That point is moot, because he wouldn't do it in the first place. He'd see it undermines the program.

Well I feel as though Spears sucks as an analyst. Why should we be OK with his mediocre sub par football predictions based on his feels?

a 9 win or non championship reason isn't good enough for him.
Well which is it? Feeling justified for shitting on "your" team every year they don't win a championship makes it seem like you just really like shitting on "your" team.

HE HAS DEAD WRONG ABOUT THE TIGERS!

Lot of butthurt cocksuckers in this thread. He scored the winning touchdown in the National Championship you fans so proudly beat your chest about.
This board is more harsh than anything Marcus has said on tv.

Fuk him he’s a wannabe smart man . Never understood how he got to where he’s gotten. Slow and inarticulate. Don’t need his support

Stop making sense.
There are elements of this fan base that do not know what to do right now. They are LSU fans and excited about the 3-0 start. But they had themselves so convinced that Orgeron was a mistake and needed to go that they don't know whether to be happy or fear for the long term. So they are paralyzed by competing emotions.
If LSU continues to win, more and more will admit they were wrong and jump on the train. The tricky thing will be if LSU continues to win but stumbles against Georgia or Bama.
As for Marcus, he was a member of the 7-5, 6-6 crowd and is now moving the goal posts. Like many of the negas, 9-3 against the toughest schedule in college football is now unacceptable, even if it is progress for the program. In truth, nothing short of an SEC championship is acceptable even though the two best teams in the entire country (by a wide margin) happen to be in the SEC. And if you happen to think that we can be both one of the ten best teams in the country while acknowledging that right now we are third best in the SEC, you are accepting mediocrity and all of this is Ed's fault and we should fire him now lest we accept the mediocrity of being a top 10 team with a bright future.
