ND will make the playoffs most years because they’ll set their schedule up accordingly as an independent.

You're not kidding. ND's schedule is a joke. After A&M, they have no ranked opponents (Boise State got stomped by USF this weekend).

I don’t hate Freeman. It’s not his fault the fans are shite. He’s just coaching. But frick the media and the fans. I hope they lose every game. Except to aTm.

Check the ND schedule...it isn't particularly daunting...my guess is that it might be difficult to keep them out of the playoffs...

Ehhhh. I agree with your point… but Cristobal did everything he could to choke that game away. Dude went ultra conservative, while not even chewing up clock.

He might be a worse game manager than Miles was.

It happens to Freeman often in big games if I remember correctly. He’s a good coach but probably taking over ND too early. I know Kelly isn’t perfect but it’s nice to have a coach who knows more about the game than probably anybody. The rah rah football guys never last. They can have flash in the pan moments. It feels like we have a coach who would have made a great CEO of a company.

Freeman looks like DeBoer on the sideline, like he doesn't know what's going on. It's probably why he's lost to 2 G5's in 3 seasons.

Domers are ready to fire Denbrock into the sun.

Saw several comments about the team looking like a BK team again, maybe they will soon understand that it's the kind of athletes they're getting and not the coaches.

Still don't understand why their fans and the media thought they were suddenly "better" because the playoff expanded and they had "playoff wins" vs teams that were less talented and had multiple regular season losses.

You can't beat 2024 Indiana and act like you're suddenly better just because your previous coach lost to 2018 Clemson, that's dumb.

I agree....they looked like they were playing not to lose at the end....they wouldn't even let Beck throw one pass...

Realistically who cares about them. They are not a good team from what I saw. They play aTm and Arkansas they at best split those. Boise is probably a loss. Then they lose 1 of the rest at least. That puts them at 4 losses and doubt they make the playoffs.

@Arkansas isn’t a gimme for them. Neither is @Pitt

The fact that’s their toughest remaining road games is hilarious though.

I don't see things playing out this way. I think they lose one more the rest of the way (likely either A&M or USC), finish 10-2, and make the playoff. It's not what I'm hoping for, but what I'm predicting.

Yea but you know why they and the media both have different standards for freeman than they have for Kelly. We all know why.

This is all that really needs to be said. Context matters but they aren’t judged the same and the reason is obvious, hell some of the media has come out and admitted it.

Maybe, maybe not. I tend to agree with you. I’m just saying there’s a lot of sweeping judgements being made after week 1.

ND hung in there when it looked like it was going to get ugly

their QB is going to be a problem

That running back is rediculously talented

That said, Miami got way too conservative to close out the game

why do coaches do this?

Yes, can we have their schedule? They get Army and Navy right?
