SEC Network. Set your DVR. You’ll want to see this one.

Depends who you ask. Lenny Wilkins and the rest of his Hawk teammates didn’t think so. Bill Walton always commented on how little he actually won as a player. Individual skills were awesome no doubt.

Nah man just extraordinarily lucky. That’s how he became and still is the leading scorer in NCAA history. Luck.
As a matter of fact the point of the whole show is to emphasize how many of his points were scored because of pure luck.

I saw him after LSU for Hawks. He hit teammate dead in hands with a pass, the guy never saw (or believed) coming. Biggest problem was he never had anyone to complement his play. Besides points, check "assists" sometimes. Never saw an athlete in any sport, period, with the physical skills he had...yeah, just lucky.

Yes, yes he was. Dude still has the record for points per game, even without a three point line (and he took a lot of shots from way downtown).

But as good as he is basketball is still a team sport, and he never had a supporting cast. Injuries also slightly stifled his NBA career.

Serious question... no white, black, green, blue or purple player could guard that guy. He was mentally aloof and weird in school. But damn he was so freaking amazing on the court. Loved to drive to the Jazz games. Pistol Pete and All that Jazz!
I was in school from 1968-1972.

Partied with him.

I saw him in 1968 in the old Cow Palace, when I was still in high school. The show on him is really good. I saw it last year. I thought he was the best player of his generation, really great.

Good for him but you can’t create an entire hour long TV special off of one dunk.

My dad had never seen a live basketball game before my freshmen year. He was absolutely hooked.
I was able to get basketball season tickets in 78 I think and he didn’t miss a game. He did get to see them in 2 Final Fours on TV. I took him to New Orleans to the Elite 8 at the dome in ‘80. He was so pumped when we beat Eddie Sutton and Arky. I miss him.

He scored 68 points in a NBA game with no 3 point line and he fouled out with a couple minutes left.

To put that in perspective, that is tied for the 13th highest scoring game in history, and only 7 others have scored more than him ( wilt did multiple times).

Wilt chamberlain
Kobe Bryant
David Thompson
Elgin Baylor
David Robinson
Devin booker
Michael Jordan
Pete Maravich

You don't do that without being not only good but great.

Where did you find the schedule? There are a couple of others I would like to see but missed when I lived where we did not get the SEC network.
