anyone know if LSU has reached out to the mannings about hosting their passing academy?

It’s gotten to be a very big deal. With 1500 campers now, I would think they’re outgrowing the digs at Nichols.

You can bet the Mannings will never hold their camp at LSU

What makes you think this? Probably more likely that they would hold it at Tulane rather than LSU

Damm, I hope not. Mannings and Tigers do not play well together.

There are rules against that sort of thing. Unless it’s specifically put on by LSU it is unfair recruiting to hold football camps on campus. We travel regularly to football camps, and they are always at high schools.

why would LSU contribute anything that would make money for someone other than LSU?

Now I realize that Nicholls isn’t LSU but why isn’t holding it in their campus a problem or unfair advantage?

Sure they won’t pull the 5 stars but they get the 2 stars on campus to recruit them over other colleges in their conference.

Except it is currently held at Nicholls. Its was held at Southeastern and Tulane before that.

You know Nicholls St is part of the NCAA as well, right?

Well the Mannings have helped with the facilities at Nicholls. They've added turf on the football field, built new lockerrooms, and they've got a "indoor" facility they just built.

It's the biggest thing Nicholls does, so they'll keep investing to keep the camp there.

They are not leaving Thibodaux. There is plenty of room for expansion. They enjoy coming to Thibodaux and they don’t get bothered. Mannings have invested pretty heavy in Thibodaux.

I doubt they ever leave Nicholls because they’ve invested a lot into the facilities, field drainage etc for the camp and for Nicholls to use. There’s also ample field space around campus that is walkable for the campers to use in Thibodaux. The Manning’s hate LSU narrative is simply not true. They just have a great relationship there with Nicholls and have mastered the logistics to make such a large camp work on that campus.

I was not aware but they hold a big OL/DL camp a wk or two before the MPA. Draws some pretty good coach instructors. I work with a former NSU DL player that was telling me about it. Doesnt get the publicity the MPA gets though

Been called by many one of the best lineman camps in America. Pete Jenkins was a big part of creating it if I’m not mistaken.

Nicholls Campus has ample dorm rooms and unlike the other schools mentioned you can walk from one end of campus to the other in 10 minutes (15 if you walk slow). Dorms, Cafeteria, and practice fields are a 5 minute walk of each other. It’s perfect for these camps.

i remember the mannings saying they want to keep this camp in a small city to stay out of big media, orlando offered years back to host but were turned down if i remember right. even though the camp started at tulane, moved to hammond, but nicholls campus was more suited for the camp.

Yes that lineman camp is one of the bigger ones in the south.

Nicholls also host a pro football camp in a few weeks.

All of the upgrades to the drainage, covered outdoor facility, turf football field all helps with the afternoon showers.
