his is not a big Holstein pander response but at this point it is an assumption that he is "behind" Walker at LSU in performance but yes he would be a yr behind in class.

Well he probably would be behind Howard in Performance as Howard will have had a full year to Redshirt and learn.

I would expect that too but my point is that it is not a given. Holstein set the Sparq record at the Elite 11 camp this year besting Justin Fields record by 10% and vastly exceeding anyone on this board's expectation. I think there are a lot of people sleeping on him. When you get down to it he has as much accomplishment at this point in his career as Howard and not many expected that.

It’s pretty common sense that you take your chances battling against people you don’t know rather than battle against someone you do know and who was already ahead of you before.

LSU offered him a scholarship in 2020

Correct but they also offered Arch & you know 2 Elite 11 QBs were not going to the same school in the same year. While Ed's staff was chasing Arch and had offered Eli, they were not recruiting Eli as hard as other SEC schools were. aTm and Alabama have always been on him even though Bama didn't offer as early.
Known his kid since he was young and he is not afraid to compete. His Dad just knew that he could get quality playing time at a HS that didn't have the son of a legend playing QB a year ahead of him. JH is really good and Eli would have only had 1 year to be the starter. Instead he has started either 2 or 3 years already and has a 5A state championship to show for it. No need to "save face" when you are planning on a professional career for many years.

Don’t have a opinion. This was expected and I’m good with it

Arch was never coming here and LSU has known that for a long time.Your boy was committed to A&M before Brian Kelly even arrived here. It’s ok you don’t have to pander, the kid didn’t want to go to LSU.If LSU has to kiss your arse for you to want to go there then you aren’t that big on LSU from the get go.Saban is his daddy now,and Saban isn’t going to stop recruiting QBs just because he is on their team. Also Saban was recruiting Arch harder than just about anybody. He attended his basketball games lol,so please stop using Arch as an excuse

Is this a failure on the part of LSU?

It amazes me, honestly, how some of you are still just so clueless about recruiting.

Yes, complete failure by LSU to get the 5* QB in the state.... Howard and then fail to get the other two in this class with Holstein and Manning. YEP, LSU should have all three 5* QBs at LSU and play them all.

Some fans just don't have a grasp on reality.

This is incorrect and makes my whole point. Once Young is gone, Bama is sitting on Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson. Educate yourself on more than just LSU. These are two top level recruits with bright futures. Why is Holstein willing to compete against them and not here?? That is the question.

My opinion is that they did leave the state.

Does Bama have any highly ranked QBs?

Shows just how stupid you are and just how low the bar has been set by fans like you for this once proud program.

But you sir are the epitome of fandom for LSU huh? I wasn’t going to start an argument with you but this was just stupid af. The bar isn’t “low”.
It’s tempered expectations because the program has an all new staff. It’s going to take time to build relationships. Plus no manning was ever going to play at LSU. Pawpaw Archie (the guy this kid is named after) would make damn sure they never play here. It’s. That. Simple.
Plus Holstein wasn’t coming here either because of Howard.

Would you rather go compete against people you don’t know who have proved nothing to you before at the school you really want to attend, in his case Alabama

Or go to LSU and compete against people you do know and you do know how good they are who has Walker Howard and Garret Nuss

Common sense that it plays a factor but the main factor is he wanted to go to Bama an coveted that offer. He can go do his thing,we don’t need a QB till the following years recruiting class truth be told

Recently it was discussed how out of touch this take is/was. True, Holstein changed schools rather than sit behind Howard at STM in high school. His reward for that was to become an elite level recruit instead of a budding hopeful starter his Sr yr.

Exactly. This is common sense. It’s like someone just says something, then a bunch of idiots start repeating it.

Holstein had a 5 star prospect a class ahead of him. He coulda been the next John Elway and he wouldn’t win that job. So he decided to go somewhere else to get on the field. That turns into “Holstein scared to compete”.

It’s been mentioned Howard sat behind a guy who is now at Louisiana Tech. So does that mean LSU’s 5 star qb couldn’t beat out a guy who ended up at Tech? By this board’s logic that’s what it means.

The reality is, in high school football, if the older guy is decent, he will have the job. That’s why Howard sat behind Tech guy, and why Holstein left. Even in college a lot of times teams play the older guy over the more talented younger guy.

Well, if it isn't "Mr. Navy Seal" (fake).
Listen, the only time we need the opinion of a TCU fan is when we are discussing how third-rate programs operate. Until then, go back to your fetal position, crying because you got bullied, snow flake arse life in your mom's attic until called upon.

I love how you talk about people crying but yet, every time you post, you’re whining like a baby back bitch.
Also again, not a TCU fan. Reading comprehension is key. Also never said I was a seal. I asked if you wanted to find out. Again reading is key. Stupid arse mother frocker.
