My casual fan strategy:

Start Cowan for hopefully one trip through the lineup, but keep the leash short. If Cowan is dealing and keeping his pitch count down, let him extend as long as he can without a lot of traffic on the bases which would be the best case scenario. Bring in Shores for about 30-45 pitches if/when Cowan needs to be relieved. Then bullpen/wholestaff guys to get them through the 7th. Noot to close in the 8th+ if LSU is leading or tied. Noot could pitch into extras if needed.

If Arkansas is leading by enough in the 8th to "concede" the game, save Noot for the if necessary game start, and consider Eyanson out of the pen if Noot gets in early trouble Thursday.

If there is a Thursday game and it's close late, I have to believe Eyanson will pitch to win it! It'll be a shame to burn him for any starts in the championship series, but he could likely be your reliever/closer Monday if needed.

I’ll say noot and hope for 3 innings. If doing fine, let him extend until a little trouble. Cowan is probably next up but he needs to come in clean so you may to bring a guy in between noot and him.
Bridge it to the 8th.
If you have a lead, I have no doubt Jay will go for the kill and bring shores in.
Then go to eyanson to end it for an inning.
Then you’ll be well rested for the champ series.

Cowan from over 2 months ago, is completely different than today's Cowan....Confidence is not there...Wish for the best...

Cowan. Has the starting experience and his stuff should play in the Chuck. Plus his last great outing was vs the pigs

This is how I’m thinking. Cowan against a team that eats fastballs. He will keep them on their heels. Then Noot. Rizy, Ware, Primeaux and the boys will be rolling in.

It’s going to be Noot. Cowan was warming up in the bullpen to possibly come into the game Tuesday. That tells me what Jay has planned for tonight.

Do not expect to see Eyanson tonight. They want to keep Shores in that short stint shutdown/closure role so I would expect them to go to Cowan, Ware, or Cooper next until they can get to Shores. You're not going to ask him to extend.

Game gets out of hand one way or the other is when you'll see Rizzy or Schmidt come in.

We have to match Arkansas' desperation in this game to win. They are too good for us to go in there thinking we can win not going all out. And I want no part of a Thursday game.

Jay just saw Root throw 35 pitches against us and then go for 70 two nights later.
Eyanson threw 45 Monday night. He can do the same tonight.
You start Eyanson tonight, Anderson if necessary tomorrow.

Behind Eyanson tonight you go Noot, Shores. Save Cowan for Thu.

If all goes well and we win tonight, you have Kade in Gm 1 of the finals and Eyanson in Gm 3

Every poster calling for LSU to go “all out” today would be the first ones here melting when they realize LSU would be scraping the bottom of the barrel in an actual elimination game on Thursday if they lost.

You’re at the top of that list.

Zac Cowan vs Landon Beidlechiese

Redemption story arc for Cowan who has a Herring, Hurd, Ackenhausen-esque performance

ETA said Noot yesterday but even if he starts I think we see Cowan for a decent stretch

That hilarious coming from you. You’ve shown over and over again that you don’t know shite about the game.

Jay doesn’t have the mindset of being panicked, not even one iota. He will trust his guys today and if we get in a win or go home situation tomorrow he can play desperate and throw Anderson and Eyanson in relief.

If it calls for it with a tight game he may still go to Eyanson to close tonight like we saw in Hoover

ETA just because we don’t have Anderson on the mound tonight doesn’t mean everyone out there isn’t going to go all out 100% to get the W…

I don’t agree with it, but I would not be shocked if Ayenson gets the ball. I would prefer to hold him, but again wouldn’t shock me based on the comments that he’s made and Yeskie made post game yesterday. I would probably start Cowan and hope he can give you 4. Then go to some combo of Rizy, Williams, Noot, and maybe even Ware. Someone out of that group will have to step up.

Wouldn’t shock me to see Ayenson followed by Cowan/Williams with Shores closing.

This dude wants LSU to burn everyone they have today when they aren’t facing elimination, while also telling others they need to learn the game.

To be fair, he also wants Jones benched and pinch hit for every time he comes to bat, so he isn’t very smart.

Mayers hasn't thrown more than 2 innings all year. Would be a great relief pitcher, can't see him starting though

Yeah you’re probably right about Eyanson. I don’t recall seeing Ware deliver in quite a while but Rizy has had some good outings.
