I've posted this before, and stand by it. We would OBLITERATE any school's all-time team with the exception of UNC-UCLA. Those are the only 2 with a prayer against us.

Shaq
Tyrus Thomas
Garrett Temple
Rudy Macklain

Those are the 4 former LSU players I have given my book to directly.

Need to give Abdul-Rauf one to complete the starting 5.

I vote for a ban to all who said Ben Simmons. He doesn’t deserve to be on the 3rd team.

More than likely will be out the nba in 2 or 3 years.

Starters:
1-Ben Simmons
2-Pistol Pete
3-Rudy Macklin (C)
4-Glen Davis
5-Shaq

Bench: Take your pick
6-Adam Miller or Chris Jackson: Combo Guard
7-Skylar Mays or Garret Temple: Local kid who gives it all for LSU.
8-Tari Eason or Bob Petit: Off the bench foward

HC-General Wade

Style of Play:
similar to the current team on D and Effort. On Offense would love to see a lot more ball movement and swing passes, Offense would run through pistol when he is on the court. May not be the best team to ever play the game, but that be a team thats easy to root for.

I would think top 3

Pistol pete
Shaq
Chris Jackson

Then Petitt

I would really like to see another freak line up next to Shaq.

Stromile swift in the paint

Probably not top 5 but I would love to see what I think are two of the better athletes to ever step on the court.

Kind of a foolish take. His skillset and production at the college level earn him a place in the conversation, whether you choose to put him in your top 5 or not. His NBA career has no relevance to the discussion of what he did at the college level. His teams were terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE, but he still produced nearly a 20/20 line several times out there. He put up significant stats despite the other team knowing that he was literally the only player on the floor that they had to defend.

I don't like his personality and I don't think his NBA career will turn out to be too memorable, but he earned a spot in the conversation for college production.

It’s not a “who would you like to hang out with” list it’s a starting 5 basketball list. Simmons is definitely a consideration for that F slot in an all time starting 5 lineup for LSU. Personally I think I’d go with Ricky Blanton there because of how he’d fit with Pistol, CJ, Pettit and Shaq but if you’re going strictly by talent level Simmons is probably #1 there and easily in the top 3.

The all-time team is always gonna be filled with too many scorers. There aren’t enough balls for CJ and Pete on the floor at the same time.

That's exactly why I'd have to drop one of those two and have Ethan Martin at point guard.

He played on one team not teams. And there are 5 total nba careers off of that team. That’s not including victor and Hornsby who have a professional career. He had games of greatness but look at the entire careers of numerous LSU players. I’m not putting a single year player who couldn’t will enough wins out vs Generation of other players. But you can gfy because why would I put a player who didn’t want be here on an all time LSU team.

Sixth man could be any of 7-8 players. Nikita Wilson, Dewayne Scales, Ricky Blanton, Derrick Taylor, Tremont Waters, Howard Carter, Ethan Martin, Glenn Davis, Stomile Swift. Hell, Sparky Wade played a hundred years ago and was LSU's first all-american.

Hw probably doesn't deserve being on the list , but we had season tickets during the heyday , & my favorite player I got to watch in person was Dewayne Scales. I should add I never saw Maravich play in person.
