Tadlock coaching his alma mater, lifetime contract, obvious dream job etc., can LSU baseball program lure this big fish? Are we prestigious enough baseball job in college baseball that he can't say no to? He fits the Woodward profile IMO.
1. Tadlock
2a. Bianco
2b. McDonnell

maybe not likely and maybe we don't publicly hear the subtle court that goes on but i absolutely would make him turn my program and monies down and take my shot.

Is the best coach in college baseball. Anyone who believes otherwise is over-thinking it and effected by recency bias.

Christ. How can you compare Bianco to McDonnell?
McDonnell: 5 CWS appearances in 14 seasons as a HC
Bianco: 1 CWS appearance in 22 seasons as a HC

If I wanted any coach in the country and no one could tell me no, my choices would be:
1) Tadlock
2) McDonnell
And I know a lot of people don't want Bianco because of one trip to Omaha in 20 years but I feel very confident he would do better here and wouldn't be upset if he's the guy.

Texas Tech was brutal before he arrived and has turned into a super program. He has done a great job there for sure.

i didn't compare. I listed them both at 2 options. obviously you go alphabetical in that situation. I'm a mcdonnell fan. i worry about the lsu ties with bianco.

I believe that's what you meant to say.

He's a west Texas guy who's son just graduated from a local high school and is playing for a local college. He got a lifetime contract for a reason. He's going nowhere.

He just signed a lifetime contract with TTU. He’s staying put.

can we agree that in and of itself, this point is still meaningless? Unless there's some sort of huge buyout i'm unaware of.

I think the $2.5 Mil can get anyone - but I do not think that is the number we are going to pay. Too high!

Damn, so you think he’s better than Van Horn?
Guess it’ll be a hell of a hire then.

I agree but you make the call anyway and make him tell you no.

I like this too.
But why are we only talking about 3-4 coaches.
There must be others out there, no?

Absolutely, there are other options. I just followed Tadlock and McDonnell for a long time and always admired these two. They both built programs from nothing and are consistent winners and regulars in Omaha. And the fact that neither has won a national championship doesn't faze me at all.

Tadlock is a Red Raider alum.
He’s not going anywhere.
