Have you seen our TE room?
Kole Taylor be like
I’m not suggesting we don’t have a hole at TE but we also have a huge one at safety.
Good offense I’ve coaches can scheme and mix personnel to minimize the hole at TE. Frequently in today’s game there are multiple sets that don’t have a TE.
You can’t do that on defense with safety.

Derrick Davis and Sage Ryan are both talented safeties. They would've had less experience, but it isn't like Major Burns is a 5th year senior.
If given the choice, in a hypothetical world where Arik didn't frick us in the arse, you trade Major for Arik 10/10 times.

Dude, as it stands, is absolutely a head case.
I'm past being pissed off how he acted here and on to hoping he gets his head right and has a decent future. He's a just a kid with issues.

Hope we play UGA and Major and friends can take aim and deliver the mail...

I think you can make the argument that we need safety help just as bad as we need TE help.
Kole Taylor has TE locked down. Gilbert saw the writing on the wall. That's why he transferred.

Should've signed major out of high school and not pulled his scholly.
We could be using that last transfer on a tight end.

Arik? Well, you never know, as he's in some ways an unknown
Not really. He's an elite talent and will be highly valuable and productive in a good offense.

Is it even confirmed that Gilbert will play?
Didn’t he have issues qualifying?

Lol, he qualified immediately somehow. Lots of speculation he told LSU he was returning so we would get him in the right classes to get eligible and after he became eligible transferred to UGA, knowing he was going to do that the whole time.
Kirby made him Academic Player of the Week or whatever his first week on their team in a troll that I got a chuckle out of.
He's running as their #2 WR behind Burton, who of course was all LSU for a while as well.

I’m definitely not a fan of his trolling LSU on Twitter though.

Based on talent, maybe....based on his other issues wouldn't surprise me if he left ga after a year. Can't remember that running backs name...but #1 rated in nation, several years ago...and kept changing teams....wanted the limelight....think he ended up in jail.

I wish we played Georgia so bad this year.
I think there is a good chance we will.

Definitely an unknown whether he can stay on the field...they can have that cancer.

Gilbert is soft. Not worried about him

Hopefully we get the last laugh by snagging Johnson and Johnson out of Georgia.

Arik Gilbert, as a tight end, was one of the best receivers on our team last year. I think might be close to a 99 on Madden.
Burns, while a good piece, is not the elite talent Gilbert was. We’d have to land a Tyrann Mathieu/Eric Reid type for it to be comparable.

Arik is a freak and will do very well at UGA as their #2 WR and will get drafted very highly barring injury.
I wish things had worked out differently, especially with our TE depth chart.
But frick him after he handled that ordeal and used us.
This. Gilbert is a freak and he'll be a big time pro prospect but the bottom line is that he didn't want to be here. Not much you can do about that. It would be nice to have him obviously but LSU isn't going to be lacking for receiving threats.
