Don't hate me, but Burns WILL work out well (already showing Major promise), and Arik? Well, you never know, as he's in some ways an unknown...

We may get them in the SEC title game. Let's hope...

Not equal trade based on talent and need on the field. Maybe an upgrade in the locker room.

Can we see Arik play a full season before we come to this conclusion? Dude, as it stands, is absolutely a head case.

It’s a great trade. Gilbert is a cancer.

Maybe not equal on talent, but I think you can make the argument that we need safety help just as bad as we need TE help.

Maybe more. You can run offensive sets without a TE but you can’t run a defense with a safety.

Another thing to think about is Major Burns bleeds P&G and could still play 4 more years at LSU. Arik Gilbert has a max 2 more seasons in college football, he’s either going to the NFL or who knows what.

He wasn't gonna be eligible at UF but Kirby worked his magic

I think it's a fair statement right now. Gilbert definitely had a bigger impact on the field last year and the poster said that Burns would be better for the locker room.

I know Jack Bech isn’t as big as Gilbert, but I’m hoping he’ll still cause some problems for teams as a TE since we don’t necessarily run the type of off. that has him constantly blocking. If we can get some output from him or whoever else they put at TE, then the trade off will def be worth it IMO.

He worked some magic for sure... Arik went from failing remedial classes to Academic Player of the Week at Georgia

Arik is a freak and will do very well at UGA as their #2 WR and will get drafted very highly barring injury.

I wish things had worked out differently, especially with our TE depth chart.

But frick him after he handled that ordeal and used us.
