I watched the video, it looks like Mainieri is debating it, just like the thread title mentions. Not definitive either way. He said he was leaning to going with Stevenson in CF. But over the years he's changed his mind hours before a game on a bunch of decisions, so I'd say its still undecided.

Did you watch the whole video?

Yes.

What part of "if" confuses you?

That he is leaning toward starting Stevenson again.

He never said that. I challenge you to point out the time in the video where he said that. The closest he came to mentioning Stevenson starting again was when he said he was going to think about it for the next 24 hours. (The video was from yesterday.)

He then proceeded to explain why putting Stevenson in was not a good idea from an offensive standpoint.

It's getting heated up in this piece. He said, she said, Mainieri said!

At the 1:48 mark, he says, "Quite frankly, my inkling right now is to go back to having our best defensive team out there."

The question is, is Foster's glove THAT bad? Come on, cant be. His arm is good, I don't think he's too slow either. Start him in Right. Stevenson can shag flys in practice.

"Tension is high on the Rant this evening, folks. You can feel it in the air. It's palpable. I think we in for some heavy-duty fisticuffs, so strap on your Kevlar and chastity belts. This is Howard Cosell reporting."

Did you purposefully leave out his next statement about how much that would hurt the offense especially facing a left handed pitcher against McNeese and two left handed pitchers against Florida?

Foster had some adventures in CF last year, but I think maybe it just takes some adjustment to getting used to playing RF in game conditions.

Plus, Stevenson & Laird really are that good as an OF duo.

I think Stevenson deserves another shot to see if he can hit just as I think Foster deserves more opportunities to show that he can field well.

I am not against a little experimentation for the next few weeks, as I think all 4 players are solid in at least some aspect of their game.
