Is it possible to go one off season without a key starter to have some sort of issue.

Usually it's injuries which you don't have much control over but unknowns like this sure do stink.

Fair enough. I didn't know there was such a thing.

Sounds like all is not lost.

No he wasn't it was just the opposite!

Ott was trying to blame the staff and Hanigriff was having none of it!

Fifth OL lost this offseason.

Yay. That's got to be a record.

We've lost an entire offensive line this offseason.

I agree. The process seems like it's longer than when I was a lsu student. When I was a student, if you got charged with academic misconduct you were granted an UHP hearing pretty quickly with a 3 to 5 member panel. If it's a 3 member panel, one has to be a student, an official from academic affairs and one professor. Thats how it use to be. I served on an UHP panel a few times as a student. I don't think that part has changed but when I started at LSU, it was zero tolerance. You admit or UHP formerly sanctions the student for A.M, you gone forever, and my junior year I think they changed it to a 3 to 5 year suspension.

Today, the 1st offense now is a Zero on the assignment, or F for final grade whatever is applicable, placed on probation for a year. But that F could have knocked Teuhema from academic probation to academic suspension. The 2nd offense now I believe is an one year suspension. I think this was an Academic dishonesty problem, and I would have to assume that process could have been extended if the professor/instructor didn't catch the misconduct right away hence why the news is coming in August not May. But maybe it was a prepetual attendance issue, his grades suffered and put him on academic suspension.

But the process now from what I read from the LSU SAA site is longer and provides more due process.

Why didn't you let the coaching staff know he was fricking up?

The coaches knew. They have class checkers following those guys around making sure they attend class. Every absence was documented and forwarded to the staff.

On the bright side, at least you know we aren't going to try and play smash mouth with this OL.

Miles would still have tried to

This one's on the Academic Center for Student Athletes.

They helped Frank Herron get a degree. Frank did it right and took advantage of the resources they throw at those kids, Maea obviously chose not to use/ask for the help.

Not to mention athletes have priority scheduling and the academic center for S.A. Knows what professors to take and what professors/instructors to avoid or proceed with caution. These athletes have a wealth of resources at their disposal, and most of the time the academic center for S.A. would never advise athletes to schedule their semester classes with over balance of difficult classes. Teu just didn't want to fulfill his part to meet minimal grade standards.

That dream is the worst!

Nah, the dream about walking through the quad and realizing that you are naked and late for class is the worst. Having to run through buildings and hiding behind the library is terrible. I used to wake up in cold sweats when that happened.

Man, this team has the offensive line blues.
That will not change either, until O bites the bullet and hires a really good OL Coach. Not sure why he's holding on to Grimes. He's not getting it done Coaching or Recruiting!

When the Canada Offense is not quite what we all expected, this will be the main reason. We don't have 5 horses up front. We have 1 or 2 horses and 3-4 pony's. It's like that every season too............

Teuhema will play football for LSU this year. If there's any chance of him making it back, which there is by the phrase "indefinitely suspended", he will be back on the team prob before the season starts. If he had zero chance coach o would have kicked him off the team. I fully expect him to resolve his issues and be on the field this year. LSU and it's staff will make sure of it. He's too important to our success.

If you have a kid that has to pass summer school to play then Grimes or his GA should have been keeping in touch with his teachers every so often to make sure 1.) his arse is in class and 2.) he is doing the work. IF they did this and the kid still fricked off then you can't blame the coaches. IF they didn't do this and just left it up to the kid then that was a mistake.

I can almost guarantee that Saban has someone escorting starters that are potential academic casualties to class.
