Campbell slides into Teuhema's spot, but after that it gets dicey. Is Clapp now the first option at guard if there's an injury? With Cushenberry coming in at C, then?
Magee I would say or Clapp to guard and Cush at center like you said.
Deculus could probably easily play guard as well, he played there this spring. He really needs to get going developing at tackle though.

But we heard nothing about any academic problems with him before a couple of days ago. Wonder if someone at the coaching staff was asleep at the wheel here?
Or maybe they don't need to tell us about every thing at every second.

I was in his speech class this summer along with Andre Anthony and Maea never came to the class and didn’t drop it so I’m assuming this is the cause of his grade troubles. He did 1 out of the 4 required speeches
Good Lord Speech class or Public Speaking I believe is what it was called in my day was the easiest class I ever took. The hardest part of that class is the fear. But once your up in front and you start the fear is gone.

but look at the classes Grimes has been responsible for, the 2015 class has now almost been completely wiped out

right, you weren't aware of it so surely nobody on the staff was

Don't worry we have great OL depth. Said nobody ever.

It seems like a decade since we had any depth there
Really. And Les was a former O-lineman who loved to pound the football old school and dominate at the line of scrimmage.
It amazes me how much trouble we had at O-line during his tenure. It's the one area of the field where Les was supposed to be an expert. Why weren't giant, badass big uglies beating down his door to play at LSU?
It will take a few years to fully recover from the damage that has been done. I'm just glad that era is over.

How stupid of him . I usually give guys the benefit of the doubt , but who waits until their senior year to frick up on grades ? Honestly, you had a semester or two to get it done and you say frick it in the season where you earn your big money .
Maea is a Junior baw

This comes behind some really crappy classes at the end of the Stud era. Grimes can get em here but then they get played out of position or just leave. 2 position groups were attrition prone: LB & OL. LB seems to be getting better but OL is in a bind now.

This is getting ridiculous...OL is now, by far the weakest link on this football team.. why tf would you do this during your Jr/Sr year..or at all?!?! shite..it's not hard. Stay out of trouble, and go to fricking class..Jesus.

The odds are if he is in grade trouble, he also broke some team rules in relation to tutoring and/or attendance.
Whatever it is, if he can get his grades and credits in order, he will be back as soon as it happens.

I think this been in the works all summer on the way Coach O kept saying Brumfield and Campbell will see a lot of playing time this year
Posted on 8/2/17 at 10:12 am to nicholastiger
No it's not on anyone but him. Stop blaming others for his own personal issues..

I like Jeff Grimes but at some point one has to look at the position coach, sorry! At this point I'm guessing it will be:
LT - Malone 6'4 321
LG - Clapp 6'5 314
C - Cushingberry 6'4 316
RG - Brumfield 6'3 300
RT - Weathersby 6'5 308

Offensive Lines define the best teams, it literally is the most important position on the TEAM. Nobody touches Janlen Hurts or Tom Brady, if you can run the ball it demoralizes a team. This is a real problem for LSU, if they are weak there I predict a medicore season.

Just look at it like Maea graduated. Time to get Campbell & Deculus ready going forward. They'll be fine. Just no more stupidity please !

I thought it was grades?
It could be. They likely saw his grades slipping and put him on a program with a tutor and some other benchmarks to meet. If he isn't doing the work or skipping classes, that's a violation of team rules.

Don't understand the angst here we will be fine. If you take out your binder and turn to section "J" subsection II it covers playing with a partial or no offensive line on the field. Hopefully Canda has not removed the tug boat/"O" bit of genius.

O -Line play is going to be our downfall.

This kid is going to be a star and will be born at guard this season.
Really looking forward to seeing Austin have a coming out party.
