Think he got two in 2012. One an extension, then during the summer a raise. The extension came at the same time as the Arkansas bullshite.
I know he received extension at some point before 11, but not a raise.
I remember Alleva stating a reason, he was market value for what Les had accomplished. He wasn't incorrect.
You can think they kept him too long, but he was due for a raise for results of 2011.

this is exactly how I remember it. I remember b/c I was laughing that he and sexton thought they could use that to get more out of LSU...well they did

Honest answer, who do you think would hire Les now?
Idk, if LSU had fired him? South Carolina maybe? What jobs were open again? Not the U, they got their guy.
I'd have to also look around and see what programs are struggling that would be willing to fire a coach for an upgrade.
Just came to me while I was typing, Syracuse is one that comes to mind as well.
Now Les would most likely take a pay cut from what he was making at LSU, but if the Arkansas offer was true, then Les took a million $ pay cut to stay at LSU.

Les' agent is George Bass.
Is it possible you are misremembering?

Miles’ reworked contract would increase his bonuses for meeting certain postseason and academic goals. It would also increase the maximum amounts LSU would owe if it were to terminate Miles without cause, from the current $11.2 million to more than $18.7 million in the first year alone.

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Les Miles received a new seven-year contract and a pay raise Wednesday from LSU, ending speculation that one of the most successful coaches in the school's history might leave for rival Arkansas.
Miles' new deal runs through 2019 and amounts to a two-year extension. LSU athletic director Joe Alleva would not comment on the financial terms of Miles' raise, the first to his base salary since 2007.

Les Miles was already one of the highest-paid coaches in college football, but after another 10-win season -- one that came one heart-breaking drive against Alabama from sending his LSU Tigers to Atlanta for a second straight SEC Championship game -- he's about to earn even more.

LSU announced a new contract for Miles Thursday, one that offers him a two-year extension through the 2019 season and increases his annual salary from $3.75 million to $4.3 million. The contract will be presented to the LSU Board of Supervisors for approval Feb. 1.

It mentions Arkansas and results.
Does it matter? The people y'all put your faith in a few weeks ago are the same clowns that signed off on his deal. Again, the vitriol needs to be directed elsewhere, not at Les Miles.

No one had faith in Alleva. If you followed the board, people were highly skeptical anything Alleva did would turn to shite.

So...there's no truth to "you get what you pay for," right?
With LSU you pay for what you get apparently.

When les miles resigns after a future year when the 8 game/year streak is broken, all assistants should be well compensated in a severance package. Les miles won't need to be given any money because he was allowed to coach for as long as lsu wins 8 games in exchange for resigning when he fails to keep the streak alive.

Altair got the ax. Now we have this guy.
Hmmmmm?

Frank is the only person on the staff earning his paycheck.
How does Alabama only pay Kiffin $680,000. Meanwhile, we pay Cam 1.5 mil. Alleva should lose his job for that reason alone.

So has anyone figured out how much Miles has made since he's been here? I would guess it's in the neighborhood of 40 million.
Posted on 12/9/15 at 3:04 pm to CaliTigerForLife
Haha, we paid Steele a million.

If only. We finished 4th this year and 5th last year (considering tiebreakers).

And what has that gotten us? Let's see...
(AP Top 25)
2015 - 20th
2014 - 23rd
2013 - 14th
2012 - 14th
We didn't finish 23rd in 2014. We finished unranked.

Just for fun, let's look at recruiting rankings from 09-15 to see how those classes were developed.
(247Sports.com)
2009 - 1st
2010 - 8th
2011 - 8th
2012 - 14th
2013 - 6th
2014 - 2nd
2015 - 5th
Ironically, although recruiting (at least by ranking) is considered one of his biggest strengths, the lack of talent and depth at crucial positions is one of the reasons we're in the mess we're in. Leave it to Les Miles to let his supposed biggest strength actually be a weakness.

Rankings can be bs at times. Most years there are a hand full of teams ahead of LSU that would not beat LSU and actually lost to LSU.
Yeah everyone on here thinks that and then bowl season comes along and Miles shits the bed and proves the rankings were true after all.

After the way his DB's have been playing he shouldn't be telling anyone to F themselves.
You didn't think this through obviously.
Are you F-ing serious? We completely changed scheme and to a scheme that requires more thinking. We had a true sophomore, 2 true freshman, and a 1st time starter playing most of the year (in addition to Thomas at nickel and White on outside). He is pulling in crazy talent over the last couple of years and with a year in the system, the secondary will be much better next year.
Just last year we were 3rd in the COUNTRY in pass defense. That was with one of the worst pass rushes in the country as well.
