Not this year & not against the SEC.

Sugar Bowl is SEC vs Big 12
Rose Bowl is PAC-12 vs B10
Orange Bowl is ACC vs at-large
(they would be eligible for Orange if ACC champ went to the CFP, but Clemson/UNC are a lock for Orange bowl)
Cotton Bowl is G5 vs at-large

Given those choices I would prefer Clemson in the Orange. TCU or KSU in the Sugar doesn't sound very fun.

I could also see us getting bumped to the Citrus vs. Penn St.

The only way I see that happening is if Ole Miss was ranked higher than us. We would have to lose to UGA by 40 & I still think we rank higher than them. (Of course I guess a loss to A&M would bring that in to play and knock us out of NY6)

Will be interesting to see how things play out. Assuming we lose to Jawja, I think a 1 loss PAC-12 champ gets that #4 slot. Tenn then gets the first choice and we likely get second choice so it’s likely cotton at this point.

It's not our choice, right?

The Sugar Bowl gets first choice from the SEC and they would certainly choose a 10-win LSU team. Also, LSU hasn't played in the actual Sugar Bowl game in 15 years.

Cotton Bowl picks after the Sugar is filled.

I don't care who we'd play in the Sugar Bowl. Don't we have a score to settle with Santa Clara?

This blew my mind.

Playing in the Sugar Bowl would be sweet, used to mean everything, meant you were the SEC Champions, meant you were elite.

Sugar and I'd like to play Texas or Tulane if either would line up.

I’ve gotta stop with these bowl game threads. Too many of you don’t understand realistic bowl opponents

Honestly, if LSU does not win SECCG they should get the highest non CFP bowl IMHO by winning the West.

However, it wouldn't surprise me to see the SEC frick that up and give Tennessee the better bowl if they win out.

Hoping someone exposes TCU because they are not deserving of a CFP berth.

At least the LSU- Tulane Cotton Bowl talk is over.

If Tulane wins out they will likely be the G5 team

To be honest. I'd really like to play USC in any bowl. I'm still bitter about the AP giving them a trophy after they beat #4 Michigan and we beat #1 Ohio State back in 2004.

Even though there is a probability of getting shot or mugged, I’d rather spend NYE in Nola than Dallas

Sugar Bowl has go to the highest remaining SEC team which right now would be Tennessee. Only choice would be Orange which wont happen or Cotton which is likely.

KSU would be good for the revenge factor.

I still have a hard time thinking of UCF as a major college program. (I'm an old fart).

TCU would be a good challenge.

I’d like to see USC or ND if possible.
