Beth's good enough to get us to a certain level but after 10 years I've concluded that she's not going to win a national title.

They'd better add a couple of hitters if they expect to get to the WCWS in 2022.

And none of them can hit on a reliable basis. Not winning championships that way.

I didn’t realize it had been that long until I heard it in the broadcast. Still seems like yesterday that this happened.

Back to what? Losing again? I'm no bitter fan, and I'm not say fire Beth but this team hasn't gotten anywhere we expected with the "talent" she's had.

There's several of those Freshman and Sophomores you speak of that I hope dosent come back. 3-4 players LSU batted tonight were terrible, You can't have that expecting to win NC.

Top 20 program with no sense of urgency. Rinse repeat every year. Torina seems happy with being a ho hum yawn.

The once proud track program has been killed by lips Shaver. He has won 1 championship in 2008. He had some serious athletes. Shaver needs to go.

Harsh, but needed to be said I think.

Personally I will be disappointed if Tidwell or Coffey are still on the roster next year. I was not one of Tidwell's great admirers even before she went brain dead last night costing LSU some revenue for tonight.

When I see Coffey, I see McNeese, Nicholls...anything but an SEC school.

I think Torina's biggest challenge is going to be the catching position. I've never been a fan of sacrificing a bat for a glove anyway, but Cummins was much too inadequate at both, which is too bad because I actually liked her fire behind the plate.

It was telling and disappointing that Savannah Stewart couldn't crack the lineup this year as I don't think they went into Georgia to recruit her as a pinch runner, and it may now be in both parties interest if she perhaps tried some other school to play at.

The same could be said for the Houshmandzadeh sisters unless one of them is being groomed for the open outfield position, though I've seen no hard evidence of that.

I'm certainly not suggesting that Clark shouldn't be welcomed back, and that her power is not appreciated, but her feast or famine show will start to become a little tedious.

A few positives:

Lost in the disappoinment of last night was the fact that Sunseri and Kilponen went toe to toe with FSU's two All ACC pitchers, and if Chaffin comes as advertised, should supplement a potential quality pitching staff which goes without saying is quite the luxury.

Pleasants seems to be on a trajectory that All-American status is her's to lose before leaving LSU.

I think Briggs will be more than an adequate replacement for Andrews in CF and as lead off hitter, though I would personally perfer if she would identify one way or the other what type hitter she is going to be, as the hybrid slapper/hitter didn't seem to work too well for her, particularly towards the end of the season.

And finally, I think Gutierrez could potentially have a solid career at LSU, as along with near flawless fielding, she has one of the better plate approaches,...great eye and next to Pleasants, the sweetest swing on the team imo. And on the subject of Gutierrez, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if her older sister Lauren, an almost certain Preseason All Mountain West player, decides she wants to transfer to play her final season with her younger sister, and perhaps to experience Southern culture, which would certainly address the issues at 2B or the now open 3B position.

Anyway thanks for letting me rant.

I apologize for the long post on a bumped thread at that, and apologies for any violation of board policy for singling out players.

And Tameka Johnson too. Often forgotten but she was a huge part of that team.

You clowns act as if winning a national title in a woman's sport comes easy.

They have to replace Tidwell and Cummins, too much of a liability at the plate and defensively.

I feel great about our pitching next season. Just got to fix Wickersham though.

We missed a golden opportunity IMO to not win one when Finnegan was here. That 2017 team was the best squad we ever had but laid an egg to open nationals. We at least got 3 SEC championships out of it
